Getting better all the time
New ownership is making big changes to this course. So much potential, it is exciting to see what happens next. Greens are in great condition and fairways have been opened up making for a more playable and enjoyable course. So excited for golf in the Hickory area!
Condition of course
Worst green I have ever played on, Course is poorly maintained and looks like they are on the verge of bankruptcy. Would not recommend it.
Love the layout
First time laying and I was really impressed on the layout. Greens need some work but other than that, had a blast!!
Cow pasture
Fairway uncut, greens mostly dirt not from sand because of aeration but because the grass was gone. The fairway had not been mown weeds and other vegetation growing and over grown. Horrible, played there before course was being taken care, now it is a cow pasture. I was embarrassed that i took a group there.
Tough course.
If you like hilly golf this place is your dream come true. . It’s a test of balance and precision shots.
New ownership ruined the course
This place is awful now. Fairways, Greens, and Tee Boxes are all in the worst shape ive ever seen. You can lose your ball in middle of the fairway because it bunkers down in clovers. It had rained for a week straight and the greens were still bare and dry. Disappointed in the direction this course has gone because it used to be excellent.
Poor condition
I always end up going back to this course every few months because I know it can be in better condition and hope that it is actually playable. Today, I was extremely disappointed. The only reason I wasn't 100% fed up with the round was because I hit a hole in one on number 8. Greens were half mud with either long grass or no grass. Sand traps were ponds surrounded with hard packed clay-sand. "Fairway" was a field of clovers. Seems like there hasn't been landscaping in a few weeks. The putting green looks nice, but don't let it deceive you. Cart died through 10 holes. Cart paths are completely torn apart. Price should be about half what it is, given they fix up the greens.
Excellent Time
Course was aesthetically pleasing. Challenging but straight forward lay out. Course professionals where friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a new course add this one to your list!
Terrible
The worst course I have played in NC or ever for that matter. Horrible greens with weeds for rough. It’s amazing that they are in business. Trash!!
Ok
Played here about a month ago and course was in decent shape. Thought it would be better today but just the opposite. Greens are dirt. Bunkers are hard packed. Our group did not see another golfer all day. Kinda of surprising when everyone is playing now
