White at Gilbertsville Golf Club
Gilbertsville Golf Club in New Hanover Township is tucked away among the rolling hills of Montgomery County. The 27-hole public course is divided into three nines, called the Red, White, and Blue. The Red and White were the club's original 18 holes when it first opened in 1967, and the Blue nine was added 30 years later. Being one of the older nines, the White Course has a more traditional layout with small, mostly flat greens and wide fairways lined with trees. It's not the most formidable round at Gilbertsville G.C. but it does have a few challenges in store. There are some tricky doglegs and while water may only come into play on two holes, one of these -- the par-5 second -- will leave a lasting impression with a carry over a lake and a meandering stream that edges the right side and then cuts in front of the green.

Made a few craters on the greens and happily used the repair tool. Unfortunately choked on my few birdie putts. Photo submitted by u000007953538 on 11/18/2013

This be short..fairways alright, tees OK, greens mostly fine, but a few in poor shape....BUT FOR GOD'S SAKE..THIS IS A GOLF COURSE!!! A GOLF COURSE HAS "SAND TRAPS:...NOT BIG GIANT HOLES WOTH STONES AND HARDENED MUD!..These were the worst traps I have ever seen, and there is NO sand, man. If you do play, do not attempt to try and play out of them or you may break your arm, or ruin you club. Or call Dr. Strange, as this is the MULTI TRAPS OF MADNESS!..
Hi, Thank you for reviewing the course. Let us first start by apologizing for the poor experience you had during your visit. Your feedback about the course is important to us. We are working to get everything up to par. We have projects ongoing to recover the fairways and greens. The current condition is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. We are going to escalate your feedback to our team so we can make improvements before your next game, and we will continue to work towards an excellent experience by using your comment for guidance. Thank you for playing White at Gilbertsville Golf Club. We hope to see you again soon.
We played red to blue. The pace was nice for a Friday morning. A good challenge but also not too tough for the novice. The only complaint was no yardage markers or bushes. Of the 3 of us to play we only found one marker, a sprinkler head in the middle of the fairway on #9 blue. Thats it! If my friend did not have a yardage binoculars we would have been completely lost. Other than that the staff including a groundskeeper were extremely courteous and welcoming. We will play again. Thanks
Great Golf Day
Very friendly staff. Never lost a ball. Well maintained grounds.
Can't blame the course for not draining well but they should refer to the traps as water hazards and cart paths as off-roading trails.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the team. Thanks for visiting White at Gilbertsville Golf Club, and we hope to see you again in the future.
My mother was a mudder
Came from on the coast in Jersey and didn't realize they had snow there just two days earlier. 90 percent of it melted but it was SLOPPY!!! No fault of the courses but was playing a little longer than usual and lots of mud balls, which i used lift clean and place of course! Pace of play good - four hours - and it was crowded with mostly old guys. $23 can't beat that. Played red and blue. Fun little course.
Thank you for reviewing us! We see you rated the course 3-stars and are interested in learning what we can do to improve before your next round. Feel free to comment on this review or reach out to the team in the golf shop. We always appreciate the feedback. Thank you for playing White at Gilbertsville Golf Club, and we hope to see you again soon.
The staff is always super friendly and the gentleman who runs the cart garage is truly a pleasure to chat with. The course was pretty wet from rain the day before but still in great shape and the layout is not only challenging, but with three 9’s, you can come back another time for a new challenge. It is a long drive for me, but always worth it.
We played Gilbertsville golf course on Black Friday 2021.
It was 42 degrees (and sometimes windy).
That being said, it was a great time. No waiting always makes for a good day on the links.
The greens were great - good true rolls and the rest of the course was in good shape as well.
Yes - on the 4-5 holes when the wind really gusted strong - we definitely questioned why the F we were out there…but the other 14 holes were awesome. Great day.
Who knows? this might be the start of a new tradition.
