Good value and not too intimidating
This was my first time at this course and I was skeptical because of some rumors I heard of disrepair from previous ownership. I was pleasantly surprised. The fairways seemed in very good condition, with the exception of a couple holes (14 in particular), Some tee-boxes did show some abuse and some concrete cart paths were almost undriveable due to shifting, probably caused from the tree roots. The greens were excellent and holes were clearly marked. Management is aware of the issues and is working on things as evidenced by list of actions stated in the clubhouse. I felt the course was not too intimidating and was an overall good value. I will return and would recommend to friend
Great Course for Beginners
Was a beautiful day for a foursome. $44 for 18 holes with a cart can't be beat. Couse itself is very well maintained and the workers are as helpful as they could be. Only small complaint is that a lot of twosomes were allowed to play versus being combined into foursomes. They were continually riding up on us; letting them play through wouldn't have mattered. However, overall it was a great day!
Solid
Very solid course, cart part could use an upgrade but the course was in great condition. Definitely looking forward to going back
Course is in great shape!
They raised their prices this year (at least during peak times) but theyve put more effort into upkeeping the fairways and greens and I havent seen it in such good shape in some years. Glad theyre putting effort into it! One of my favorite courses.
Good track!
The course was as advertised, generous fairways and large greens.
Forgiving yet challenging and punishing.
Greens were firm and undulating, but rolled true and thus were fair to play.
Pace was slow behind some groups of seniors, but they all allowed faster players through graciously.
No frills but very enjoyable.
Great value on a deal time
Very good conditions for a municipal course. Greens were in very good condition. Some of the rough was very long making it hard to find an errant ball. Would definitely recommend and will play here again.
Toledo Detweiler
Great bang for your buck. Friendly course for novices like myself. Friendly staff and the carts can really scoot!
Detwiler
Tee boxes pretty tore up with areas of fairways dead from pooling water or fungus. Greens were in good shape, well watered, ball stuck, yet hole placement very challenging. Most holes if putt missed would roll about 8-10 feet past just like the “fancy” expensive courses.
How could I forget
Beat value out there. The greens are in better shape than most of the courses in the area.
Great value
18 holes and a cart for $20 a great deal. Course was in decent shape haven’t had rain in a couple weeks . T boxes were rough and fairway dry with some bare spots. Greens in good shape had a great time.
Hello, LarryL73. Thank you for leaving us a review. We are sorry to hear your experience was anything short of 5 stars, but we hope you will give us another try in the future. Thank you for choosing Detwiler Park Golf Course.
Things to know
There are a few greens that aren’t kept up too well and the staff in clubhouse wasn’t very friendly, hot dogs over cooked couldn’t eat them. Need to take better care of the course and it would be a great course.
Nice little public course and then fairly decent shape for it being one. The price is definitely right
