Bad conditions— renovation set for next year
This course will undergo a complete renovation, fairways and greens, next year I was told by a member I played with as a guest. And, it sure needs it. The greens are smooth and fast but do not hold. There is no grass anywhere to speak of, in rough or in fairways. There are divots all over the place. The only aspect that is Tour grade are the bunkers, and they are perfect. It is a nice layout that is incredibly run down.
Cant believe they play a PGA tour event on this???
Having played Torrey Pines, Doral, Austin CC, TPC Scottsdale and a couple others I'm forgetting this course is at best unimpressive. Not even in my top ten in Las Vegas.
A beautiful afternoon
The weather was absolutely perfect, which made the day even more terrific.
What was the most amazing was how great of shape the course was considering the PGA Tour event just came through town a week earlier. With so much traffic on the course during the tournament you'd think it'd be a little more worn, but it wasn't. The greens rolled nicely and the overall course was great.
I particularly likes the par 3s. And a par at the par-4 final hole with water all down the left topped off the round in fine fashion.
My wife and I were in Vegas for the week. She played 3 courses with me and I played 2 more on my own. 2 average courses and 3 upscale.
Summerlin was in excellent to pristine condition. Greens were fast but not crazy even tho the tour will be there in 2 weeks. A lot of interesting holes, good layout, very nice staff and beautiful views. We got a deal due to our network club, but I would recommend this course at $100-200. It is private, but if you have the opportunity to play, I highly recommend it!
Course Conditions were excellent
Course was in great shape, greens not overly fast. Staff was excellent.
