Interesting Course
All winter tees. Wet underfoot in many places but some spectacular views over the reservoir and to Sugar Loaf. Bar staff very friendly and will return in the summer when conditions should be better to play some interesting holes
Good day!!
Superb welcome from staff and pro shop. Course average for this time of year, fine views. Negative, pace of play poor which impacted an otherwise great day.
Overall, very nice course and a warm welcome from most.
What a course
Group of 3 played this course yesterday and we were well impressed with its condition. Greens in excellent shape and very quick. Fairways cut well and winter mats in good order. A fairly hilly course so a taxing walk but we enjoyed this course a lot. Well done to all the staff at Woodlake GC.
Great Greens
I’ve played here a few times and always found the greens at least very good. Today was no exception despite being over halfway through November! We played off winter mats, no surprise for a parkland course in November, and most were good surfaces to tee off from. The only issue, not much of one if you kept it on the straight and narrow, was the fairways could’ve done with a cut though it was soft underfoot so might not of been able to get a heavy mower out there. Spike bar friendly and comfortable.
Awesome but tricky
Just as the title implies, a great challenge for myself and playing partners. Great fun and varied with excellent views.
Only 7 holes in , and we agreed to play it again.
Fantastic greens
Had a great round at Woodlakes today , the condition of the course is outstanding. It’s been a few years since playing this course and once again it didn’t disappoint. The greens are absolutely phenomenal . . The fairways in excellent condition and the views unbelievable .
Outstanding course & views
A friendly welcome in the pro shop.
A well set out course. Amazing greens. Views to die for. Really enjoyed and will definitely be back.
Very nice course
Lovely well maintained course with stunning views of the reservoirs. However probably wasn’t the best course to pick as my third course ever to play but was still very enjoyable. Very hilly
Another wonderful round!
This is a wonderful course with friendly staff and members. As usual, despite plenty of recent rain, the course was in immaculate condition - surely some of the fastest, truest greens in the area. Plenty of variety, with no two holes the same, round completed in just over three hours despite the course being fairly busy, mainly because people there seem to always be conscious of the fact that calling someone through makes everyone's round pleasanter. I play this course a couple of times a year - and my only criticism is that it's always difficult to find - which may be part of the reason it is always so special. I look forward to many more rounds there.
Bring your hiking boots
Incredible course, not many flat parts; you’re either playing uphill or downhill with the ball higher or lower than your feet. Challenging but thoroughly enjoyable. If you’re not fit, get a buggy. Very good condition when I played, but had started playing a bit wintery. In the valleys so there’s a lot of wind about to boot. I’d go back.
Extremely challenging course
Set in the valleys, it was always going to be a bit of a challenge, but my was it an arduous course. Be fit, or get a buggy. I pushed a trolley around and was pretty spent afterwards.
As above, it's very up and down, and I can't recall there being many fairways that were flat, the the ball was often above, below, higher, or lower than you. Greens were often elevated, or well below you, so club choice was incredibly important. Some very nice holes on the course, 16th being very good. It plays long too, just didn't seem to get the yardage I do at my home club. They did state it was playing like winter, at the end of August, but I was still quite surprised.
Very challenging, but at the 18th, you can try and shoot for the green on a relatively short par 4 which made the end of the round feel less like a marathon, and a bit of fun.
Did I mention, be fit, or get a buggy....
Beautiful course
Very scenic and fantastic condition of the course. Great tea positions and strong breeze made more fun.
Only walk if you are very fit. Its quite a hilly course with some steep slopes and carrying your bag is hard work around there. Very enjoyable place to play though. Highly recommend
Quite hilly but very pictureesc lots of shots on all sorts of gradients.
