Another wonderful round!
This is a wonderful course with friendly staff and members. As usual, despite plenty of recent rain, the course was in immaculate condition - surely some of the fastest, truest greens in the area. Plenty of variety, with no two holes the same, round completed in just over three hours despite the course being fairly busy, mainly because people there seem to always be conscious of the fact that calling someone through makes everyone's round pleasanter. I play this course a couple of times a year - and my only criticism is that it's always difficult to find - which may be part of the reason it is always so special. I look forward to many more rounds there.
Bring your hiking boots
Incredible course, not many flat parts; you’re either playing uphill or downhill with the ball higher or lower than your feet. Challenging but thoroughly enjoyable. If you’re not fit, get a buggy. Very good condition when I played, but had started playing a bit wintery. In the valleys so there’s a lot of wind about to boot. I’d go back.
Extremely challenging course
Set in the valleys, it was always going to be a bit of a challenge, but my was it an arduous course. Be fit, or get a buggy. I pushed a trolley around and was pretty spent afterwards.
As above, it's very up and down, and I can't recall there being many fairways that were flat, the the ball was often above, below, higher, or lower than you. Greens were often elevated, or well below you, so club choice was incredibly important. Some very nice holes on the course, 16th being very good. It plays long too, just didn't seem to get the yardage I do at my home club. They did state it was playing like winter, at the end of August, but I was still quite surprised.
Very challenging, but at the 18th, you can try and shoot for the green on a relatively short par 4 which made the end of the round feel less like a marathon, and a bit of fun.
Did I mention, be fit, or get a buggy....
Beautiful course
Very scenic and fantastic condition of the course. Great tea positions and strong breeze made more fun.
Only walk if you are very fit. Its quite a hilly course with some steep slopes and carrying your bag is hard work around there. Very enjoyable place to play though. Highly recommend
Quite hilly but very pictureesc lots of shots on all sorts of gradients.
Stunning views, course in great condition
A hidden gem. A good test for golfers of all abilities, with stunning views and lush fairways. Highly recommended.
bring your putting boots
played on a sunny Saturday afternoon. The fairways are like carpets and the USGA standard greens are superb, smooth, fast and hard to read but very receptive to approach shots. the elevation changes make it a difficult course to judge distance. It is very hilly and steep in places, older players may need to think about hiring a buggy(I think I probably will next time). Superb views from nearly everywhere of the reservoir and the surrounding countryside. A bit limited with warm up facilities, only practice nets and a small putting green but that's only a minor thing really. Club house and bar very welcoming and well priced( £1.95 for 2 cokes). staff friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this little gem tucked away in the welsh hills.
Great value for money
The course was in good condition, very few other golfers on the course and the staff were friendly. The course is hilly the distance from green to the next tee was often a reasonable walk and not always well sign posted. A course where a buggy would be beneficial. The round was great value for a midweek at £15.
Lovely course, ignorant members!
Tough to find - but course was in very good condition considering the weather. A good variation of holes, not a bad one amongst them. But to the fourball I stood on the tee with for the last 6 holes - if you don't want to call people through, that's your prerogative - but when you stand talking in front of greens, spend 10 minutes looking for balls, mark your cards on the greens and find another half dozen ways to play slowly as well, it doesn't advertise your club very well - shame, as it's a cracking little course, excellent value for money.
Great Experience all round.
Couldn't fault anything, Nice course, Great condition, Unbelievable value for money, weather surprising for October, Would recommend to everyone.
Hilly course with absolutely superb greens and stunning views
Weather was stunning - blue sky and sun and 22 celsius. Best thing about the course is definitely hte hand built USGA greens - very quick and run completely true - ball stops quickly on well hit approach shots. Fairways weren't great in that they were cracked but that's due to the weather i guess. Hilly course but quite compact and the views are incredible. £15 on a Saturday afternoon was a bargain and there are a couple of cracking holes with features such as ponds and lakes and we had the whole clubhouse outside cheering as we putted on the 18th as it was Open day - missed a 30 foot birdie putt by milimetres much to their delight!!
Would recommend playing it in summer.
Lovely course with some beautiful views of the reservoir
This really is a little Gem of a course.
Beautifully maintained with some stunning views.
The greens are really well managed and play true.
Hilly in areas so a buggy for anyone that might struggle with that would be advised.
We walked and didn’t find it too difficult.
A must play course
