Dawn on the putting green Photo submitted by MikeBaileyGolf on 10/19/2017
After renovation, certainly one of the best in the Sandhills
I expected Mid South to be pretty good, but quite honestly, this exceeded my expectations. First off, it's in perfect shape following the reopening in September after new Champion Bermuda greens were installed. The new greens recovered lost greens surface, but more than that, they rolled and looked perfect. As for the rest of the course, it was flawless as well, but even more importantly, this is a really fun course to play. Each hole has its own identity, there's plenty of water and bunkers that come into play, and the course has more than its share of signature holes. The par-4 16th, with water off the tee and the approach, is one of the best, but I also liked the preceding par 5 as well as the finishing holes on both nines that share a common green.

Course was fabulous! 4 of us played, 2 women and 2 men. We all loved the course and the challenges on Holes 16, 17, and 18. The women with Hugh handicaps appreciated how far our balls rolled with the downward slope. Well maintained. Will return.
Fun course, tricky holes, undulating quick greens.
Diamond in the pines
Played this course after playing Pine Needles and I’ve got to say I loved it. The front nine was gorgeous and had lots of water surrounded by rock. The back nine was a lot more sand but still a really good looking course for being early season. A few blind shots, but nothing too crazy. Very fun course and I can’t wait to go back.
Midddyyyy is always a treat!!!
Start to finish- Simply as good an experience as the Sandhills has to offer. I've played here a lot over the years- and most of my friends & visitors always seemingly prefer Mid South to any of the Pinehurst resort courses. Another great day at Middddy- greens in great shape- such a treat!!! - JP
Great experience at Mid South
Loved the layout and conditions were very good for February.
Playable Eye Candy
Great layout, very playable, with some beautiful holes. Greens are tough. Enjoyed our day, and plan to head back!
MidSouth
In very good condition for the time of year. $100 a person was to much to pay. $75.00 each should have been top dollar.
Great course .. but . Don’t expect hospitality
$100 “member for a day” .. unless it’s Super Bowl weekend . They toss you out at 6pm .. and I don’t even care for pro sports.
Low class and cheap on your part Mid South establishment.
Nice course and amenities
Nice course and amenities A bit on the pricey side for my taste.
Excellent day at Mid South
The course was in excellent shape. Tees, fairways, greens, not a blade of grass out of place. Greens were fast, but fair. One of the biggest challenges was the size of the greens.
The waste bunkers along with the water hazards made it difficult to maneuver if you can’t hit it 200+ off the tee.
First Class
The entire experience was amazing! First class facility’s!
Wow!
Magnificent course in amazing shape! I will look into membership as a result!
Staff was excellent. Pace of play was 4 hours. Greens were outstanding. Fairways still is process of coming out of being dormant. Layout was fun. Thought the course could be enjoyed by players of all abilities.
Excellent
We have played this course every year on our annual golf trip (11 years). It never disappoints!!! Always our favorite course.
Great track
Lots of golf In Pinehurst
Play this one if you have the time

Have not played here for several years, after moving here pre-COVID.. It was in excellent shape, although the tee markers pointed you towards trouble on each hole. Huge greens, that for this 15 handicapper, were ver easy to 3-putt. A special shout-out to the Starter, who was engaging and personable!
