Waste of time.e and money
Played here a number of times for an average green fee of £16 through the summer.
This was shocking value for £20. No golf trollies allowed. I am 61 with an arthritic knee don't mind waling with a trolley but no way could I carry my tour bag all the way round 18 holes. Did nine holes shots fromm the fairway not allowed and 6 temp greens. I will be back in the summer when restrictions are lifted. Very poor value feel conned.
Hollow tined greens
The course was selected to play with a friend after playing before. Picked the course as in the website it was described as the full course open. At no stage in the booking, in the pro shop was it explained to us that the greens had been hollow tined. When I say hollow tined they were like a Dunkirk landing beach. It severely affected our enjoyment of the course as the greens were pretty much unputtable on.
I am aware that as part of course maintenance greens need hollow tined but at no point in the booking process via GolfNow or on the course website did it say the greens had been hollow tined. We were not aware of this till we got to the 1st green. We would not have booked the course to play if we had known this was the case.
Greens were shocking
Ascot is a lovely course but greens had just been tinted and were unplayable. If i had known about the condition of the greens i would never have booked. Good round spoilt.
Impressive Course
Lovely parkland course. Fairways & greens in good condition.
Friendly (Geordie) members. Beautiful club house.
Arcot Hall
Played here before, not recommended in the wet. The greens were not in good condition, maybe due to recent heavy rain. First hole shortened due to work being carried. out.
Good but wear bug repellent
I enjoyed the round was a nice course. The layout is a bit tight on the front 9 with lots of adjacent greens and fairways. Also there are almost no signs pointing you to the next tee box. Most are obvious some were not so causing me to wonder where the next tee was. Adjacent greens also pose the same problems. Worst part was the mosquitos that were out in force on a humid summer evening. I got bitten, a lot...so wear some repellent if playing in the summer.
Great course
I have played this course 4 times now, and I have found it enjoyable every single time. The course overall is kept very well and is easy to navigate around; the difficulty I would say is fair, there are some good holes which are
This course has some great challenging holes
I’ve played this course many times & I’ve always found it to be in great condition each time. The course is well laid out, challenging & provides a good test for any level golfer. It’s one of my favourite places to play & never disappoints…unlike my golf!
Disappointing condition
All temporary tee boxes / winter greens - a lot of the fairways were like semi rough and very waterlogged. There hasn’t been that much rainfall this month but the course was very wet with lots of standing water.
The temp. Greens were a patch of mown fairway and basically unplayable.
Would only recommend in summer months.
First Attempt
Really enjoyed the round today. The course was fine but two holes were closed for maintenance and the two par fives were split into four holes on the front nine which shortened the course considerably. The back nine was unaffected.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Look forward to playing again without restrictions as I am in my sixties it was much easier on the legs than most courses around the area.
Disappointed
Neither GolfNow nor Arcott stipulated that the course would be in such poor condition. If so I wouldn’t have booked it. I will gove it another chance in the summer. But the water on the fairways were ankle height, still winter greens on 80% of the course, only 16 holes were available to play. As a fourball we collectively walked off after 6 holes after a 40 minute drive to the course. Two things that stick in my mind the most is that GolfNow should not have had it available on its website to play. Some communication between the course and GolfNow would’ve been wonderful.
Champion
Lovely course considering the weather we’ve had, it played well. The course will be amazing once the good weather returns and some of the works have been completed
Beautiful course in fantastic weather conditions
2nd or 3rd time I’ve played this course and was previously disappointed due to winter greens and general condition of course but today was a different experience. Fairways and semi rough in lovely condition and greens played well.
Lovely greens!
Course was in good condition and dry I was expecting it to be wet from what other reviews had said but it wasn’t at all. Greens were in great condition and played fairly quick, great value for £15 will definitely be back!
Excellent course
Fab course.... Great condition considering all the rain recently. Will definitely be back soon!
Impressive Course
Well maintained scenic parkland course. Friendly helpful staff & members.
Excellent value for money. Can’t wait to play again 🏌️♂️
Golf review
Played Arcot a few times and was aware course can get quite wet at this time time of year. Unfortunately wasn't aware that 2 holes were closed and fairway protection was on so all shots had to be picked up from the fairway and placed in the semi.
Most disappointing aspect was Golf now though. After booking course was then charged £99 from Golf pass. Had to open dispute with bank to refund payment, absolutely shocking so be careful.
