Good course unfortunately no mention of winter greens when booking
Great course set up but no mention of a number of winter greens or markers to show distance changes slightly reduced to days fun
Bondhay on a cold day.
I haven't played Bondhay for a number of years, so it was nice to go back. The trees have matured since I last visited, so the course / holes feel more enclosed now. It's a good layout, which I think high handicappers would struggle on, but enjoyable nonetheless.
My only criticism on the day were temporary greens across the course. As Bondhay is generally noted for its year round playability, this was a little bit of a let down, as some of the temporary greens are simply not temporary greens. I appreciate the weather had been bad / cold, but I don't think it justified closing the greens on the day.
I would certainly go back in summer, as it would be nice to play the course in its entirety on a summer day.
Winter CoVID Golf
Fairways in good condition and great not having to use fairway mats. A shame there were 2 temporary greens, especially on one of their signature holes. The fairways are very tight and unforgiving. There is very little rough, mostly fairway or trees so accuracy is a must unless you don't mind losing balls. Layout and use of water is used intelligently. Would certainly play again, especially at the price. Great value for money.
Tees very busy there were 11 people on the 1st tee so a slow day ahead it took 5 hours ti get round.
Great course though tees very good for time of year although 3 or 4 mats but its to be expected, fairways excellent for time of year, lits of leaves and i mean lots hard to pick ball up even in middle of fairway agian to be expected on a tree lined course, and finally the greens were very poor, long, bobbly and so many unrepaired pitchmarks. All in all for the time if year a good course at a good price but they should consider winter greens and tee times maybe spaced out a little more
Good course
The course was in excellent condition for the time of year. Very good value for money.
Winter golf
The course holds up well in winter
Plays shorter as the tees are pushed up but still a hard challenge
Lots of bunkers to avoid
Give it a try
Bondhay
First day after lockdown so course was packed full of rusty golfers. Greens were slower than usual and dead leaves ought to have been cleared. Excellent winter course which allows buggies all year round.
Tough, tight and great value
Very impressed by this genuinely tough championship course. Very tight, tree lined and lots of bunkers and water in play. A proper test, and some fantastic holes. Friendly pro shop and members.
Had a lot of rain hours before I played but the course coped well and was in cracking condition for the time of year.
Day off work
Really enjoyable wet Wednesday, very few people on the course allowing a relaxed atmosphere on an extremely challenging course
Great
All round great course, fairly new to golf so found it challenging but not unplayable. The course was in great condition for the time of year, all greens in action, pace really good. Buggy’s were a little on the expensive side but all round a great day of golf.
A Dry Course
I have played this course 10 years ago in the summer, I wanted to see if it was a good couse to play over winter, (when we have had a lot of rain) The couse was dry all the green were ropped off the keep trollys away, but you still played on the normal greens, tees were good All the fairways were dry so it looks like a dry challanging couse tree lined with lots of bunkers.
Excellent Course
Can’t believe you can play this course for £22. Course was pretty much immaculate. The only downside was that we got stuck behind a works function so the round took 4 1/2 hours.
Bondhay
Course in great condition. The water-guarded holes were a particular highlight.
Playing fairly difficult with fast greens and tree-lined fairways. Be prepared to pitch out!
