Another enjoyable round at Chingford, but...
I enjoyed my round despite the course being really busy. Pace of play rolled along but was slower than normal (I think there were a few beginners out there!) Fairways were nice and dry and generally the condition was good. It was just a shame the greens weren't up to there normal excellent standard (they normally are really good here but had a few patches). Players MUST repair their pitch marks though - come on everyone!
Scored 79 and will def play again.
Course is in great condition, allowing a 6 ball to play is a joke
Course is in great condition, always enjoy playing there but played through a 6 ball and a 5 ball all horrendously slow
Neither Golf Now or Chingford golf course would take my phone calls. No contact only set questions that didn’t fit. The website stated permanently closed
A very nice course, well laid out and, for the price, well maintained. Pace was a bit slow and no facilities due to Covid-19 but well worth the drive and the £16.50 green fee.
2nd day of play since opening but the course is looking great and the greens are superb
It was my first time here. Course was reasonably varied although nothing too technical and few bunkers. The main hazards came from some drainage ditches that had been dug.
Overall would recommend and will be back
Great value, quick round
Played Monday morning, busy enough but good pace, just over 3 hours. It's nothing special in terms of layout, the greens are fine, bit slow but for £18 and a public course it's excellent. Will be back as great value and convenient.
Did the job.
Played this course after a little last minute free time appeared. Got a round for £10 so wasn’t expecting Augusta. What it is though is a decent little track, not the most challenging but it allows you to keep the swing ticking over until you decide to hit the proper courses. I don’t go I in the summer it would be a little better as it was waterlogged when I played and be prepared for a LOT of civilian traffic. However if you’re in the area and you just need a quick little knock to scratch the itch then for £10-15 you can’t really grumble.
Good fun to get round, wouldn't go on a weekend or nice day
Overall good course with some fun holes, par 5's an opportunity to lower your score with open fairways but a bit of a challenge to one of them making it more interesting. I would play there again but not on weekends as it is so open I can imagine a lot more dog walkers and others which were apparent as you would expect on a parkland course but manageable in the week on a cold day. Personally I wouldn't go on the weekend because of this.
