Great golf shop
Although the course is very dry due to drought , the greens are in excellent condition . Staff very friendly
Wow, so so so slow.
Our first time playing here, it’s about an hour and a half drive and met a friend from London half way.
Facilities are excellent, small driving range, putting and chipping area and the club house is outstanding, absolutely beautiful.
There was some building work going on around the course but only visible from a few holes. Not really noticeable after the first 3.
However, we were due to tee off at 12:28, this didn’t happen. There was two groups on the tee when we got there. Apparently it was a “Ryder cup” style match… 34 players but no bigger than a 4 ball.
It was painfully, painfully slow. I would expect a 4 ball to get round this course in maybe 3 hours 45 minutes. We eventually tee’d off at 12:45 and got into the club house after the round at 5:50. Over 5 hours. Absolutely disgraceful.
A lot of members were very annoyed and even walked off after 12. I thought this sort of thing only happened at my home club, turns out it’s happening everywhere!!
A suggestion would have been to leave plenty of time around these guys and increase time between tee times if you know it is going to be like this.
Would love to come back as course was good, but can’t take the risk on this happening again.
Springs club
Overall, a good experience,
Greens very good condition. Course is a good layout with some interesting holes, I assume they have an irrigation system, if they have ,then need to use it a bit more for the fairways.
Pace of play was poor, very busy.
Would go back when in better condition.
My playing partners did not think it was worth the £36 green fee.
Hugely enjoyable
Nice layout, well kept, great greens, excellent facilities. I’ve given it 5 stars for everything except pace of play. I’ve dropped it one star for getting caught behind a playing lesson for 6 holes and then a three ball that should have let us through for the last six holes. We were still round in 3 ½ hours and enjoyed every minute so even that maybe harsh. Will definitely be going back.
Decent Course
A decent, fairly short course which was very dry after the recent weather, which made it challenging to hold fairways and greens. Lovely clubhouse and setting.
Excellent course
A great round, a favourite course and worth a 40 minute drive to get there.
Excellent Day
High quality bacon & egg bap prior to play on a well prepared course. Helpful and friendly staff in both the Pro Shop and bar which have been refurbished since our last visit. Golf club continually improving with a new car park. Well worth a visit.
Well worth a visit
Well worth a visit to The Springs. Course in good condition with greens running nicely. Plenty of bunkers in just the right (or wrong) places to make you think about your shots.
Club house and staff very good as was the practice facilities.
Pace of play was poor but that was down to a Trilby Tour event in front and we were warned before teeing off. Weather was warm enough so not too much bother.
Would recommend playing here if you get the chance.
Great course
Great condition, lovely surroundings, excellent club house. Just real good, definitely on our play again list.
Excellent very playable course
A very playable course. Not overly long but requires some well placed tee shots. Very good free rolling greens. It would be difficult to lose a ball, as the rough is quite short and so pace of play is great.
Clubhouse food and service was excellent and very friendly.
Pro shop person was somewhat surly so didn’t buy the box of balls and shoes I wanted from him.
I will definitely play again.
Course in great condition.
Course was almost immaculate, one or two tee boxes weren’t great but looked like they were being repaired so no complaints. Clubhouse does a great breakfast and very friendly staff.
nice course
1st time playing the springs, played day after total deluge and was amazed how good the course played, for the time of the year and the previous days weather the greens were fantastic and very quick. Will be back in the summer to see how fast the greens can get.
