Don’t bother
Very interesting and challenging layout but in poor condition. Bunkers are hard pack with muddy pools at the low spots, fairways are on the dry/hard side, and greens are rough. Would not waste $60.
Not worth the money
My buddies and I have played a number of courses in the palm springs area recently. All have lived up to the pictures except this one. No head pro in the shop, simply just an employee. It gave me a run down casino vibe. Range balls were all covered in dirt, and the pictures on GolfNow look nothing like the actual course. I wouldn't play this course for $30 much less give them $79 again! Go play Cimmaron or Cathedral canyon, a much more enjoyable course for relatively the same price! OH, and don't show up needing balls or tees, the pro shop doesn't have any!
This Course needs a cash
I played this course years ago and i remember it being a challenging and beautiful course, This course is still challenging and the views are beautiful but the overall condition is worn and rough. The fairways were ok but a little hard and tight. The greens were slow and not up to the standard you expect in the desert.
We understand that the past year has been hard on all of us and I know that golf had a surge because people want to be outside. It great that this course is still open and I hope that some day this course will get the capital to do the improvements and maintenance that it needs to bring back to standard it used to be.
The value for fees are fair for you get for the experience. I would recommend it anyone to go out and just play.
Staff and food is excellent! Course is in better shape than it was last year.! We definitely keep on coming back!
Eh
Went at 7 on a Saturday. Pace of play was excellent this early. Greens were rock hard, and sand was more like mud. Overall probably wouldn’t come back, but still a fun round.
Average golfing experience
Staff was courteous and friendly. Some pretty holes and great views but our overall experience was average at best. Fairways were just OK, and very hilly. Greens where hard and sloped, but in decent shape and ran true for the most part. Bunkers were abundant and steep and several were filled with hard sand or mud. Many greens required a long walk from the cart path due to them being roped off. Wind was high throughout the round. We had great difficulty ordering lunch from the course as we approached the ninth hole. Had to speak with 3 different people to place the sandwich order. The order we placed was not the order we received and they actually had to send part of the order out to us using the beverage cart girl after we made the turn. FYI, they allow dogs on the course, (which I've never seen before). The foursome in front of us had 2 unleashed dogs with them throughout the round. The dogs followed their owners wherever they went on the course.
One of the best courses in the desert, with one caveat
This is a beautiful course, every hole with its own character, and some of the best vistas in the desert. Staff is excellent, too, and the green fees very reasonable. Only downside is the potential for wind. If it's blowing anywhere in the Valley, it's going to be howling here, to the point where it's literally unplayable. Other than that, truly one of my favorites, and an experience not to be missed,
Not impressed
Never playing here again! Every green had a fungus infection. Every bunker was basically dirt and rock, as supposed to sand. It's only redeeming quality was the staff was nice and the fairways were green. But, not worth the $55. Hard pass on this course. Save your money.
Not good value.
I've played there twice and both times only finished 9 holes. Wind was really bad. If it's windy anywhere in the valley it will be at Desert Dunes!!!!!
Great layout disappointing greens condition
I’ve played here since it opened a s it’s a wonderful layout
Conditions may be worse it’s ever been.
Weeds in parking lots
Dirt driving range ???
Green po Anna slow not consistent
Fairways ok
$73 overcharged for these conditions
Range balls 20 years old awful
Good staff friendly seemed like they didn’t know how great it use to be
Wonderful tough layout with wind
Hope
It gets back to its glory
Layout/design are great. Stupid place to put a golf course because of the constant wind. Greens very slow and bumpy.
