Reality did not meet expectations
First things first. I understand that certain things happen when booking through a third party site for a tee time. Like having to pair up with a random group. I also understand that we are all of varying skill level and everyone learns the game at different paces.
When I made this tee time I was hoping to enjoy a nice round with my father-in-law. We get to the course and find out that this is not to be. We are being paired up with another two ball. Okay, I get that booking online and calling the course can lead to double booking. Not a huge problem but annoying non the less as there were others that were allowed to play their two ball.
Next, we were on the tee box at our scheduled time and our random pairing had yet to show. The ranger actually stopped us from just teeing off and made us wait for an extra ten minutes for the other pairing to show up. During that time the ranger gave us some crap about the fact we brought our own cooler to keep our waters and Gatorade’s cold. We happily showed proof that we were not brining in any outside alcohol to the course. He wanted to make us rent a cooler for 10 dollars. That is absurd. I understand you have had issues in the past but if we are willing to to prove it’s just water and Gatorade then leave it be.
Finally our random pairing joins us. It is two ladies. Now a least it could have been a group playing from the same tee box as us and their pace was kinda slow as they were not able to hit the ball very far. They decided to bypass us while we were putting out on the first hole and move to the second and there fore slowed our pace considerably as we were then forced to wait for them to move to a distance that we could safely hit to. My father in law and I were forced to skip a hole to jump in front of them since we were also playing faster than they were. Once we made the jump our pace and play got much better.
The condition of the course was a joke. The fairways were barely mowed and the greens definitely looked like they had seen some better days as there were bare spots on them. The course looked more like a cow pasture.
Overall I would not recommend this course. The experience was not worth the money. The ranger needs to go. And policy needs to be reviewed and updated. I think this land would be better suited for a housing development or a farm.
The experience did not meet the expectations
Booked a tee time for me and my father in law. Got there and found out we were being paired up. Okay that happens I get it the course double books. But when it was our tee time @ 1215 our second pairing hadn’t been on the tee with us. The ranger actually stopped us from teeing off to wait for the other pair. I also understand the whole cooler thing but if the golfers are able to prove that no outside alcohol is being brought in let it be. We are not paying 10 dollars to rent a cooler for our waters and gatorades. Back to the golf, the course pairs us with these two gals that couldn’t hit the ball over 10-20 yds at a time. We were trying to be respectful and not get in their way but at the same time trying to keep ready golf in mind. As my father in law and I were putting out one the first hole the two ladies pass us and go to the next hole. Then we have to wait for them on every hole until we decided to skip hole 4 and jump in front of them. At that point our pace of play improved as well as our game in general. I know I won’t be golfing here again and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. I do in fact know a prime spot for the next data center or housing development as this golf course was a disgrace to the game.
Lack of mantenance
This was the first course I played. There was no difference between the fairway and the Heavy rough and for that prize I will at least a course in good conditions.
Horrible
Failed to mention all greens being aerated on golf now app. No refund or pass offered , said there was a 2 putt rule, fairways were like concrete and the manager was a liar
The current reviews don’t represent reality
Everything we read about the course was that it would be dry as a bone, with huge congestion, and poor customer service.
What we experienced as a course that was in reasonable condition considering the low rain this summer. The greens were better than American dunes for $150 less per round. One day apart.
Greens were good overall, and pace of play was fine.
The course gets a little carried away with the cooler restrictions and their approach with it. All they are doing is making people be prepared to find other ways to get what they want on the course. People will do what they want in the end. In fact to me that would cause me not to ever buy alcohol there. For example, we always bring a small cooler with soft drinks or energy drinks and then buy beer on the turn. So I guess they are improving my health because I just won’t drink there. Haha
Overall, good experience and value.
Great value!
It is a short course and in good shape. Friendly staff. They have some Interesting holes! It is not rated, which is a shame.
Would go back and play again!
Getting better in some areas
The course is getting better in some areas like the rough; now when I played it was evident they hadn’t mowed in a few days, it was playing like the pga championship, ball just disappeared if you weren’t in the fairway and took a good swing to get it out. The tee boxes were a little beat up, especially 2 and 3. It also looks like they’re doing some renovations with the landscape, hopefully for the better! Greens were in good shape though!
