Don't do it!
This course is way over priced. We were greeted by a stressed out staff member behind the desk, pushed by three rangers because an outing was coming in and they mistakenly scheduled our teetime too late. They blamed this on Golf Now. We played through the sprinklers on the 18th hole. I'll never go back and tell everyone I know not to go.
Nice House, nobody home
Great views & layout for sure (house). Fast play because not many out there. Course conditions rough at best. Overpriced for sure. Played there a few times before and have seen it spectacular as well as in the dumps. My last visit for sure as there are tons of better options in the area.
DUNMAGLAS, the gem of Charlevoix
Was up with a 16 man crew, had a great time closing out the weekend at this hidden gem. It was our 6th round and this course was easily the second best track, trailing only behind forest dunes.
Difficult course, but it was a blast. Greens need some TLC, Everytging rolled true they were just a tad slow. My 5th time on the course and I always highly recommend a play here. Shockingly, the course does not get played as much as it shoukd be.
Beverage cart kid is an animal. The hooligans in front of us had a fifth of honey jumps for birdie purposes, left it on the hole and the cart kid returned the birdie juice to the squad, real class act.
Go play this course, you'll be happy you did.
Question Mark
The course covers lots of real estate, and offers some panoramic views of Lake Charlevoix and even Lake Michigan. Some holes are among the best in the North. Many challenging holes with "target" golf expectations. Not as manicured as some in Northern Michigan, but well worth playing at the right fee.
The course is amazing
I usually golf this course at least once a year.
It is in great shape with beautiful views on more than one tee.
The staff is very friendly and very helpful.
Beautiful
Course is beautiful with amazing vistas of both Lake Charlevoix and Lake Michigan.
Fall golf in Northern Michigan
Wind, some rain but a fun time was had
Great course
Awesome experience. beautiful September Day.
Really challenging course in pristine condition. Fast greens. GREAT VISTAS
Dunmaglas
Some very interesting challenges, tough holes, overall I would play again
Great Golfing Conditions
The course was in great shape from tees, fairways and greens. Greens best I have seen on this course. Love the scenery and views of the lakes.
We always enjoy this course every time we play.
This is our favorite course when we are visiting family in Boyne City.
Great course, not as well known.
The course was very enjoyable to play, great views, and a very fun and challenging layout. This, is a course that you don't here a lot about, but well worth playing.
Not worth the price compared to other courses
The course was not in very good shape - the greens were inconsistent, fairways were rough with 'critter' damage, and some of the tee boxes needed mowing.
Based on the other courses we played the same weekend, this was not good value for the amount we had to play and the condition of the course.
Good Layout gone Bad
I have always wanted to play the course but the price was far too expensive, even on GolfNow. Many of my friends had stated that it was always over priced. My suspicions on this course were also heightened by the fact that the parking lot always seemed near empty, even at peak golf time. However, the $40 fee was the lowest I had seen in years, so I gave it a go. I really liked the layout of the course and some spectacular views of Lake Michigan but that is where my likes end. I was driving the ball accurately this day, I could see how the tight fairways would cause fits for an average golfer. My difficulties were in my approach and on the greens. At a 12 Handicap, these two parts of the game really tested me. Again, I liked the layout but a bit too difficult for me. The course conditions were atrocious. Fungus on most of the greens. The first cut of rough had dandelions 6 inches long, (on Memorial Day weekend to boot). I needed my weed wacker before I hit several shots. The only way I would play this course again, would be for a far lower price ($20-$25). Course is being mismanaged and $0 being spent to improve the condition.
Very Interesting Layout
Loved the great views of Lake Charlevoix and Lake Michigan from some of the holes. The course could have been in a little better condition, but it is still early in the season. Some very interesting holes, lots of sand traps. Eleven traps on number eleven!
Well Maintained
Hadn't played Dunmaglas in about 4 years. Back then I felt it was going downhill. Upon returning last week I found the track to be very well maintained and definitely worth a play. Amazing views, fun quirky holes and always a challenge. I'll return back next year for certain. Pleased to see the place being taken care of.....this course is a nightmare for 1st timers so try to play with someone who has some course knowledge. Course goes out and doesn't come back until the 18th so stock up in clubhouse before heading out.
Nice course
Very nice condition. Green were a little slow but nice.
Scenic & Quick
The staff was friendly, the course was lush, and the weather was excellent - what more could you ask? Even better, there was hardly anyone there on an August Sunday, so we were able to zip around in less than 4 hours without rushing.
PRICE TOO HIGH
COARSE IN AVERAGE CONDITION BUT THE COARSE FEE IS MUCH TOO HIGH
This is a beautiful and amazing course!
Love this course! It is not only beautiful with gorgeous views of Lake Charlevoix, but provides many interesting challenges!
