First time playing this course
What a great experience as this was the first for the guys that I travel with to play golf in different states. Three of us were from Ohio and one from Virginia. The course was in excellent shape and the views on various holes were spectacular. If we get back to playing in WV again, this would definitely a course that I would play again.
The only downside was that they did not have any drinks in the proshop or have a grille.
Incredible golf course
I have golfed since 1969 and this is by far the best course I have ever played. Not only that it was the cheapest I have ever payed for a quality course and the best part was my wife and I had the whole course to ourselves. Not a soul on it but us. I will definitely play it again when I am in that neck of the woods.
Excellent condition
Other than a couple spots of ground under repair the course is in phenomenal shape for early April. I was surprised to see how much excellent it was.
Fun for all
The course is a hidden gem for the price. The course has a few wet spots but that’s to be expected this time of year. It has some holes that require shot placement but is fairly forgiving overall. The only thing this course lacks is a clubhouse with food and drinks.
I shoulda checked before scheduling.
After committing to play, I find that it is "cart path only" when I arrive at the course. This course is quite hilly and involves a lot of uphill and downhill walking even if you hit the fairway every time.
Some holes could've easily accommodated cart travel. Other holes had moist areas -- those holes could be "cart path only." So the two of us, 82 and 87 year old guys got quite a workout. But the kicker is that, evidently, that cart path only rule only applies to those of us who are not property owners. The threesome behind us were using self-owned carts and were NOT adhering to "cart path only." The takeaway? -- check beforehand as to the course conditions. I didn't. BTW.....the course is NOT walkable.
Beautiful!
Every tee shot is worthy of a post card. Had the course to myself. Perfect day.
Id recommend a bright colored ball in the fall. Lost lots of balls off the edge of the fairway.
A must play if you’re in southern WV!!
First and foremost, this is the Dr Seuss of golf courses. It will have you shaking your head more times than not and you’ll likely need a tour guide the first time you play it. But with that being said, I freaking love it here! The course is always in amazing shape from the greens to the tee boxes, and the fairways are plush enough to make you feel guilty for every divot you take. The first 2 holes are just easy enough to tease you into thinking that you’re going to have a laid back, casual round and then hole 3 brings you back to reality just in time for hole 4 to leave your scratching your head as soon as you step on the tee box. And it doesn’t stop there. There are plenty of notable holes you’ll want to grab a picture of just because you can’t put them into words and do them justice. Holes 8 and 18 will be the true tests to see if you snap a club or two. I know all of this seems overwhelming and not like a fun round but I promise you it’s an absolute blast to experience. Grab some buddies or get paired up with some locals and just enjoy everything Woodhaven has to offer. The clubhouse staff is always awesome and Matt F. is always a great host for the round. It may not be for the faint hearted or new beginners, but I guarantee it will be memorable and you’ll want to bring others just for the experience!

Great fall colors Great variety of holes
We enjoyed our round. We played there in 2021. It was fun to know where to hit it! We will be back !!
Stonehaven
The course is very challenging & not a place for beginners to play., The changes in elevation were amazing. This is not a course you can walk. Golf cart only.. There were many blind tee shots so you need to play the course with someone who knows the layout. The greens were a bit firm so you could not go for pins. I look forward to playing the course again. I got a great rate for the round on the Golf Now web site.
Rained on first 9
Rained 7 out of 9 holes then let up and quit on 11 but the course played well even soaked. Would like to play again.
Great shape
Been a very wet summer but the greens rolled very well and the fairways drained. The course played longer than the 6500 yards listed due to soft well kept fairways.
Disappointed
Very beautiful course in very good condition! The views and course layout is excellent as well. But for $100 plus for a round of golf, I was disappointed to find out when I got there, due to a falling out between ownerships of the golf course and the resort, there is not a clubhouse. Additionally, the course could not sell anything so we played 18 holes in the heat with one bottle of water which they did provide before we started. During the round the course of play was not supervised or managed very well. First nine holes was played in 2 hours but waited on every shot coming in and the final 9 holes took over 3 hours 15 minutes to complete. In fairness, play was partially affected by cart path only rule due to the heavy rains the previous days. But over 3 hours for 9 holes is just too slow.
Would definitely play again if they get business issues solved, provide clear instructions to location of course, a clubhouse, place to get something to eat or drink, etc. Until then I wouldn’t recommend.
Beautiful view
Course is very pretty nestled they mmmmm in the woods and mountains in the glade resort! Tough course more of a target course lots of blind shots will go back and try again after learning the course ! Lots of wildlife and stunning views !! I think it would be a great Par 3 course like Tree tops or Top of the Rock both course are featured on TV
Challenging course with great topography. We played Stonehaven as well, also excellent.
