This is a great drill. I tried this last week and it help me hit my irons so much cleaner, further with accuracy. I tend to sway, hit fat, and loft my club at impact. So this drill has been a game changer. My swim process was drop the towel and turn my hips (Poweful Hip)
Great drill! Thanks
Thank you!
On the par 5's, I have to utilize my 4 iron (185 yd avg.) for my second shot, because I tend to top my 3 metal, when I use to be able to hit it in the 225-235 yd range. How can I get back to making solid contact with my 3 metal again?
Hi James,
I would practice this drill with the 3 wood. Make sure the ball is slightly forward of center and try to maintain a little more weigh on the lead leg in the backswing. Good luck!
Hi Micheal,
Thank you for that tip.
My issue is where/ how your wrists should act at the top of the backswing to assist with dropping the club into the groove and
achieve that in to out swing plane.
Thank you in anticipation
Bill Roche
Hi Bill,
Practice in the mirror where it is behind you, and at the top of the backswing look back and see if you have a flat lead wrist and a square club face. Make sure your lead hand grip can see two knuckles when you look down at address also.
Thanks for the great tip, the towel does fall...
Yes the towel does fall. Good luck!
Great drill to help identify when I am sliding and not rotating. Breaking the sliding swing habit, for me, has been a challenge. Putting the towel on the shoulder is a quick diagnostic tool and drill to identify and correct the problem. I will take this to the range and cours
Stick with it! Good Luck Ken!
