Greens were sanded
When I check in, they asked me did I read on the website that the greens were sanded. I said no, but I thought, what the heck I’m here and I’ve played sanded greens before. BIG MISTAKE!! They had so much sand on the greens that there were sand trap rakes on the greens. The sand was a uniform 1/4-1/2 thick over the entire green. You only had two shots a hole. Drive and approach. Waste of time putting and even chipping. Made for great pace of play. Play stacked up after 13 holes, I picked up and left. I wouldn’t play again until end of June. No idea why they don’t brunch off the greens like they do at home. Too bad, the course is usually a good value, but I feel a little silly not walking out of the clubhouse after they told me the greens were sanded.
Great Course - Fun layout
Vidanta Golf is a wonderful 9 hole course the you get to play 18 by going around twice.
The staff is amazing, from the minute you arrive to the time you end your fun game,
Course is always in good shape, carts are nice and the TACOS are fantastic!
No matter where you play golf in Cabo, you must make this a stop every time you are here - you will be pleasantly surprised.
Only affordable golf in Los Cabos
With nearly all other courses going private and or charging over 250 a round, Vidanta, albeit only 9 holes you play ,twice, is by far the best value in the area.
Nice course
Great staff! Very attentive and friendly! Play was slow due to a foursome in front with 2 new plays never let us play through. Overall nice experience and would play again!
Very inflexible regarding pricing. Booked online thru golf now—for 18 holes. My WiFi’s rode along for $25, so originally only wanted to play 9 holes. Finished quickly so wanted to play the other 9, but would have cost another $35 club rental and another $25 riding fee for wife. Way too expensive. Be more flexible, charge more reasonable fees and the course would be full, not empty like we saw it all week from our condo unit.
Par 35, 9-hole course surrounded by condos
The fairways and greens are in fairly good condition. Greens are Bermuda and very springy on approaches and slow to putt. The rental clubs somehow cost me $90 per set for 18 holes and were in very poor condition. There is a pond in the middle of the course which was being cleaned out by workers wearing hazmat suits and masks. I was wishing for both when nearby. The par 3s are long from the back tees and probably the biggest challenge on the course. Wild drives on par 4s and 5s will place you in housing on most holes. There are no towels for cleaning clubs and I ended up using paper towel from the locker room.
On the positive side, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The clubhouse is small, but nice and relatively clean.
Not happy
There a was team of four players ahead of us and they were very very slow. We had to wait like forever at every hole. We have learned now to not schedule a game on the weekend.
Fun course but needs sand in some traps
The course was a decent layout with some challenging shotß but, some of the sand traps need sand badly.
You would think they could find some sand on the beach a block away.
The staff and drinks were fabulous.
We had so much fun we played twice in 3 days.
Value
Because golf is so expensive in Cabo, this is a good value for a warmup round.
Had a great day golfing in Cabo
This was a fun course and the weather was perfect! Didn't mind the mandatory $30 per person food/beverage charge as the tacos and drinks were great. Total fees were $113.63 for 2 people on Golfnow plus $60 food/drink fee plus $100 for 2 rental sets plus $32.63 for a couple boxes of balls. Total was $306.26. A little on the pricey side but we had a great experience and would recommend this course, especially in early April before it gets really hot in Cabo.
Fun and inexpensive for golf in Cabo
Really the only complaint is they don't use marshalls after Easter and the pace of play was horrendous this time.
