Overhyped
A beautiful course no doubt. Perfectly manicured, though I discovered they were aerating on the first green - not sure if I missed a taped up sheet of paper in the clubhouse - but aeration wasn't mentioned aloud by starter or guy on the register till I got out there and discovered myself. Experience was not worth $79 on this day. Bunkers are a standout, really impressive placement and condition, so props to the groundskeepers for all the hard work they clearly do. Course just feels unnatural - all the flowers are just too much of a good thing - it's too dressed up and I had very mixed feelings about the layout. Island greens and fairways have shades of nicer iconic courses. But hardly reason to make this a regular stop. Definitely overhyped.
Baywood Greens
Beautiful course, excellent amenities, friendly, helpful staff, well worth the money at the regular fee, an exceptional value if you can find a discounted rate on golf now. I would recommend this course to anyone and everyone.
Will definitely play again
A very nice layout with some really beautiful holes. Unfortunately replacing divots or filling them with sand has become a lost art with some golfers and there were spots on the course where there were plent bare divots. That being said, the course really is very nice. The course staff (starter, ranger and bag drop) was very friendly. It was a hot 94 degrees and the free water bottles on the first tee were greatly appreciated.
I will definitely play Baywood Greens again!
Love this course
We play this every summer when on vacation and it is always great. Course was in great shape and played a relaxing round in 4 hrs. Course was in great shape, practice area is great.
Memories Revisited
Last played this course a number of years ago and really loved it. There weren't as many flowers blooming on the back nine as last time but it was still beautiful.
Would go back in a heart beat.
Eye candy every hole
A great course flowers every hole . Great lay out, lots of sand if you don't keep your shots in the fairway
Must Play
A challenging course that is superbly maintained. Facilities and grounds are beautiful, staff is very accommodating. Definitely would recommend.
There's a reason why they call this course the Augusta of the North. Absolutely beautiful course in pristine condition It's challenging even for low handicap players but not too off the charts for average handicapped golfers. I highly recommend playing the course at least one time
My favorite course in the whole world. I've played in other countries and all over the United States
golf great....food after, not
We have a group of 8-12 that makes this trip. Rotate some courses but always play Baywood....always a pleasure to play. We play it our last day and like to sit on the veranda for a sandwich/burger before we head home....food/prices in the past have been reasonable....not any more. We noticed a new menu this year....burger with no side is now $15. I had a grilled reuben for $12 that came with a few chips.....no pickle....no nothing. Presentation was pretty weak....especially with these price hikes. Everyone in our group was disappointed. Golf is great but we'll need to find another place to eat.
Great course. Can't wait to play again
Country Club conditions. Greens rolled like my home CC and fairways perfect
Good mix of long and short holes with some very strategic bunkering
Grounds keeping and landscaping is awesome
A must play if in the area and we'll worth a trip
Good course needs more rangers
Course is pretty difficult now. Rough is almost unplayable very thick and deep. Greens are recovering from aeration, surprised to see so much poa annua spreading on greens. Pace of play was VERY slow. 4 groups playing some kind of tourney took 5+ hours, no rangers in sight to speed up play.
This is a very nice, challenging course but pace of play and normal high fees are hard to justify.
Carolina course in Delaware
Baywood is the closest you will come to playing a Myrtle Beach course in Delaware. The course was in great shape(even after 2 inches of rain day before). Even though it was path only the pace of play was good, we had no hold ups and were able to enjoy our round at our pace(around 4 hours). Over all the staff was great and with the discount rate I got through Golf Now it was a wonderful day.
Early golf at a great course
Baywood has a great layout with trees and water hazards requiring good drives and plenty of traps and wood chips to require chipping skills
The day I played the greans were not in summer condition. Shaggy and bumpy needing a rolling and cutting
so the price should have been reduced until the course is better spring condition with all the beautiful plants at the tee boxes
pace of play was good although it can be dreadful in season since many holes are very difficult and few are easy
Excellent course. Great price.
This has been the 10th round or so I have played at Baywood. Always a very friendly and helpful staff. Free/included driving range, putting and chipping greens are a great way to loosen up before your round. Overall, the course was in great condition for this time of year and recent dry weather conditions. The greens were uncharacteristically dry and hard. All had been recently airated. No doubt the greens will improve with time and future expected rainfall. Looking forward to playing many more rounds at this great course.
