Very nice, but (maybe) overrated
We were very excited to play Baywood Greens due to its list of accolades as well as all of the positive reviews on here.
First off, I would certainly recommend the course to anyone looking to play in the Rehoboth Beach area.
That said, we got on for $75 (discounted from regular $109). I think we would have been a bit disappointed if we paid $100+ for this course.
The Front 9 (Woodside) was under-whelming. In the course's defense, all of the flowers and whatnot were NOT in full bloom; if they had been, it would have been quite scenic. None of the holes on the Front 9 were terribly interesting, either. Some of them had quite a bit of dead spots, and the tee box on the Par 3 6th was in worse condition than some $20 courses I've played.
Now, the Back 9 (Waterside) was a different story. There were some of the coolest holes I've seen, including the Par 3 11th and the Par 4 14th with an island fairway.
The signature 18th was certainly one of the most beautiful holes I've played. The approach up toward the clubhouse with the "beach" surrounding the backside of the green was definitely one to remember.
I can't compare this course to other DE courses since I've never played any others. This course is worth paying $75 to play, but like I said, I'd be hesitant to drop $100+ here.
Beautiful well kept course
This is the Augusta of the shore. The course has a mix of challenging and scoring holes. Well worth the playing it.
Nice experience
We always enjoy baywood . Nicely maintained and fun layout. Only complaints with several cart path only holes, (it was 95 and hasn't rained in days) and we saw the cart girl at hole 6 and never came around again.
Excellent condition, most beautiful course I ever played.
Course condition was excellent, extremely well maintained. Flower and shrubbery plantings, flower boxes, etc. just outstanding. Worth playing just for the beauty of the surroundings. Highly recommended.
Amazing course! Would play it everyday!
Baywood is my favorite course. They have amazing course conditions, great staff, driving range, practice bunker/greens, an amazing and challenging course design, and always a great view from any hole anywhere on the course. Baywood is a great deal and a great round of golf. If you want to be challenged and enjoy a day out on the course this should be your choice.
Excellent Shape and Value
Course was in excellent shape and the landscape was beautiful flowers in full bloom
Beautiful course!
Best course in the area for the money. Beautiful landscaping, great holes, meticulously maintained.
This is a great course
Baywood is a beautiful course, the 'Augusta of the East!' We had a great time. The course is aesthetically beautiful, well maintained, nice staff, beautiful practice facility.
Yes I would play and recommend this course.
Very very pretty...and pretty easy from the white tees
Some of the talk about this being the "Augusta National of the North" had me rolling my eyes, but there are a few holes on the back 9 (especially the 18th) that actually lived up to that, at least in beauty. Flowers everywhere. Course conditions were very good; fairways were in excellent shape. Some of the greens were a little bumpy, but we played in the afternoon...I suspect they're better in the morning.
I think the GPS in the cart was not accurate - I think it was overstating distances, sometimes significantly (10% or more in some cases.)
Next time I'll move back a set of tees. It was a little on the easy side from the white tees, playing at about 6,000 yards.
I golf at 20 - 30 different courses a year. This is one of my favorite. From the driving range to the greens everything is well maintained.

Amazing course
This course is my favorite in the Ocean City area. Play it if you have the chance
Resort Quality
This coarse was great, the scenery was outstanding and the course was a true test of skill. The rough was thick and made it difficult which is great. I would play this course every day if I could.
Beautiful course
What a beautiful course. If it weren't for the over 5 hour round I would have given a 5. I realize it is a public course. But
Over 5 hours is unacceptable.
Unforgettable
From the moment we drove into the course, my buddy and I never stopped saying "wow". Every hole is visually striking and there are flowers everywhere. Fantastic, challenging layout, especially the island fairway on the 14th. Greens were fast, fairways looked manicured, and even the sand bunkers were well combed. We even got to use the showers at the end of our round so we left completely refreshed. Everything here is truly first class.
This course is the most beautiful golf facility I have seen or played
I've played Baywood Greens 3 times in my 13 month career as a golfer and place it at the top of my list of venues. The staff, conditions and ammenities are top shelf and the grounds and landscaping are second to none. Can't wait for the next opportunity to play this amazing course.
Bring your A game!
The most beautiful course in the area. Let me start by saying we played in 20-30 mph wind gusts, and still had a good time. We found the greens too be very fast and the rough very high. Pick the right tees or you are in for a long day. A must play if you are in the area but wait until twilight for the best deals.
Excellent course! There's a reason it's always in the top 2 or 3 on Delmarva.
Staff were professional and very friendly! The starter provided a verbal tutorial at the first tee of the highlights/trouble spots to look out for on the course. How many courses offer that?? Greens were firm and quite quick. Rack rate is pretty pricey at $119.00 but Golf Now's "Super Hot" rate allowed a budget minded person afford a 4.5 star course. As a 14 hcp golfer, the course provides more than enough challenges and is in excellent shape.
nice course
Course was in good shape, range and putting green included along with GPS, greens maybe needed a little work but otherwise it was a nice course. No worries on weather they actually ask you to drive on the fairway and not off it once you get on it which was nice after the slight rain the night before, I like to be a lazy golfer.
Top 3 for sure
Since finding golfnow I have only been playing the best courses I can find. Peninsula, lighthouse sound, rum pointe, renditions, the preserve at Jordan lake, just to name a few.....this course I think is tied for my most favorite course I have ever played!...it was hole 13 or 14 that had an island fairway that was amazing! A must play course!
Great Track Buuuuuuut !
It's an outstanding trak. But get an early or late tee time. They book it to the gills because they can. Group behind us called the pro shop and they actually came out and checked out the situation. But the slow tone was already in place for the day. The deal was great for 35 bucs but you will wait on every shot. Greens were still a little bumpy from aeration but almost there. Hopefully when the new nine opens it will free things up [ but I doubt it! ]. Will still play on the deal when I can though.
