5 stars
One of the best short courses... Fun and challenging...
Good course. Way too expensive.
Awesome course with fun greens and good condition. Price is about 220 for a 4 some. For a par 3 that is about 40 dollars overpriced making it a somewhat stressful round of golf. 3.5-4/5 stars. Would be 5/5 if the prices were not deadly.
Thanks for joining us and nice comments. Considering golf at nice regulation courses in Scottsdale is from $500 and up, we provide fair value. New fun course, great conditions and the best views in Scottsdale / Paradise Valley.
Unfair Greens on a nice layout
Course needs to be rated so scores can be recorded for handicap.
Short game tuneup
Although some of the greens have extreme undulations you'd only see at a Putt-Putt facility, the course is great for honing short game skills - the longest hole is usually 190 with many in the 100 yard range. Fairways, fringe and greens were in great condition. Since it opened last year, it does seem that the service has deteriorated - check-in counter was curt, rangers were non-existant during the round and the beverage cart girl sat at hole 13 texting instead of driving the course. The restaurant service was also woefully understaffed and slow.
Thank you for the great feedback on the course. It was a busy day and we'll use your observations to improve our service. We strive to provide a fun, fast and friendly golf experience. We hope to see you again.
Mountain Shawdow Short Course
If it wasn't that jammed tee time, it is quite pleasant short course.
I wish GolfNow would have indicated the course is Short par three course, nothing had mentioned that...
Stupid Golf
Between the tee box and the green you have dirt, 3-t0 4-inch high rough and an imposable, rock hard green that you can’t hold. I doubt that Phil Mickelson could hold any of these greens even with one of his famous “flop shots”.
I thought an executive course was supposed to be fun. There is nothing fun about this course. If you like to play “stupid golf” this place is for you.
All of the good reviews have to be from employees or management’s family members.
Don’t waste your money.
It is true that we've reduced turf from the original design, the greens are unique and different and only 1 year old. They are maturing greatly. We understand that The Short Course may not appeal to everyone. We wish you well.
Love the layout
Great place. Perfect for all types of golfers. Personal were great from pro shop to bar to the guys who take care of carts and tee times. Will definitely go again
Thank you for the 5 star review! We look forward to your next visit.
Short Course with Challenges
Colorado Couple on a Long Weekend. This "Short Course" is so much fun. The inclines and angles make this deceivingly challenging. The course plays quickly and the views are stunning. Well run course with a staff that is A+++++. One of the best parts of the course is the "CHALLENGE BET" putting challenge between the 17th and 18th holes. Highly recommend this course.
Thank you for the 5 star review. We strive to be fun, fast and friendly round of golf.
Too much gravel
Great executive course; too much gravel between and around the fairways. Money may have been saved, but not good for errant shots.
Glad you enjoyed the Short Course. We did reduce turf in limited-use areas between the tee and greens. Striving for environment benefits where possible.
Nice par 3
Challenging holes and beautifully maintained. I truly enjoyed myself.
Thank you for the nice review. We hope to see you again soon.
Gorgeous surroundings
A par 3 course that’s beautifully manicured. Pin placements were fair but greens were tricky. Course is hard to find if you’re new. I had to valet park as parking was limited. Great place to work on your short game but a little pricey for such a par 3.
Great Par 3
Every hole is a par 3. Beautuful, well maintained course. Great for practicing your short game. I played by alone later in the day and the starter told me I could play a 4 some by my self meaning I could play 4 balls on every hole.
Thank you for the 5 star rating.
Perfect setting for social golf
It’s all new in the old course setting. The BEST EXECUTIVE GOLF COURSE. COSTA a little more than the “old” and worth the price!
Tricked Up
The greens were highly terraced. Very abnormal plateaus. Not a way to learn real golf. Might be fun for a non-golfer from the resort but not good practice for a full course.
Thank you for the feedback. The greens are interesting and different from most anything you've played. Most people have a great time. And the best views in Scottsdale & Paradise Valley.
Manager of resort blew me off
I have played the course about 14 times,I find
this allows me to concentrate on my iron game
and putting.I have lived in Scottsdale and understand
that peak season finds most courses overbooking
to some degree, this was the worst.
Without going into length, the Resort manager
happen to come out to the compact area near
the 1st tee I asked why xy&z were taking place.
It was the most disrespectful reply with out
curse words one could have heard!
Over rated
Course looked very nice but every green was Rock Hard. You could not hold any green with any shot. The greens themselves were way overly undulating. There was no way to get near the hole except with luck. It was only worth maybe 1/2 the price I paid. Pace of play much too slow also. Sand traps were in bad shape in that no one ever seemed to rake them out. Skip this one as there are many other better courses out there. Sorry to have to give this bad review.
Thank you for the review. We opened last March and the greens may be firm, but are also fair and maturing every day. We have brand new bunker sand and it's a fun, fast round in the heart of Paradise Valley / Scottsdale.
Not what you would expect.
This is not an easy par 3 golf course.
The greens are protected by huge mounds and bunkers. The desert areas are hard packed sand, so if you miss the grass, your ball will roll out of sight.
The rough was 4 inches thick. The greens very fast with lots of undulations and 4 foot drops in many cases over the length of the greens.
I have a 7 handicap and I've played many challenging golf courses. I thought I liked a challenging golf course. But this golf course wasn't fun for me. I don't know who it will appeal to.
Thank you for your feedback. No, it's not an easy course and it is a very different golf experience being all par 3's with interesting greens. Both new golfers and experienced golfers have enjoyed the fun and fast round. We're in Paradise Valley / Scottsdale area with the best views in town.
Par 3 but plenty of challenge
Great place to work on your Short game and certainly plenty challenging. Grass is in great shape as were the bunkers. Staff were very friendly and supportive. Good value for the money.
Not worth the money
Short course charging full course money. Hard to navigate your way around. Pin placements were difficult. So many better courses in the area to play for less.
Thank you for your feedback, we are sorry you didn’t find the same enjoyment in our facility that many guests and residents do. The game of golf is ever-changing and we believe we have a fun, unique product that allows players of all skill levels to enjoy a beautifully maintained course, in a stunning location with a wide variety of shots and putting challenges. We are sorry you do not find the same level of enjoyment and wish you the best in your search for great golf!
Thank you for the 5 star review!
