Favorite course
This is one of our favorites in the Phoenix area and it didn’t disappoint. Overpriced as most of the area courses are but we got a hot deal on golf now that made it more affordable..
Cattail at Whirlwind does not disappoint
Cattail is a great layout, meticulously maintained and does not disappoint. Great course! I rated it only four stars for value because all Phoenix golf in February and March is now priced sky high. No wonder the airport is named Sky Harbor!
Nice track
Beautiful course, well kept. Pace of play was a bit slow. In terms of scenery there wasn’t a whole lot, however the course was in excellent shape. Enjoyed this round but it was not worth $230 at twilight. But I guess you have to charge that because dummies like us will pay it.
Amazing course conditions
From the second we drove up every staff member was welcoming and helpful.
The clubhouse had a large selection of food to choose from and plenty of items in the pro shop to buy.
The fairways are immaculate. Essentially, a slightly longer grass from the green it appears. The greens are perfect.
Definitely recommend.
Great day
Course in great shape and fair to play. Group had a fun round.
overpriced for average course
Peak season or not, this course does not warrant $275 for 18. Course was average difficulty. Fairway and greens are well kept. The roughs are desert and dirt.
Devils claw
Excellent track. Greens were in mint condition. Fairways and traps in great shape.
Highly recommend playing this course if ÿou can afford it.
Mixed Review
Been here a number of times now. I still contend they are the two best golf courses in Chandler. Each time, however, I have had unpleasant experiences with the staff, particularly the starter. On a number of occasions I found the starter to be cranky and curt with myself and my group. Kind of turns me off to choosing Whirlwind over a ton of other options. It also makes me not want to recommend it to anyone or bring my out of town guests. Shame, because like I said, the golf courses and warm up areas are fantastic.
Portland visitor
Couse in excellent shape for time of year-january. Essentially no rough just dormant brown grass. Fairways nice and green. Greens also good shape and not terribly fast. Had to wait on every hole. Round took over 4.5 hours. Starter was friendly and helpful. Nice that no homes on course to obscure views of area mountains. I do return about once per year
