Brasstown Valley Resort and Spa

The course is in good condition for this time of the season. The fairways are still dead, but the lies are good if you stay in the fairway.
The course plays fair, but you must stay in the fairways or it can become very difficult. There's no room for errors and still making par.

I love this Golf course!!!!! It can be pricy but if you will book on here you can find some good deals!

I was visiting the resort for my brother's wedding. Decided to book 18 holes thinking it couldn't be too bad in northern GA the end of January. Wrong.

It was 23 deg with approx 10 mph wind. Ouch!

The course and views were spectacular and I would love to replay it at 70 deg some day.

Even on a cold (40 degrees) Christmas Day the course was in surprisingly good shape and the staff was excellent. Brasstown is an amazing resort.

Bent grass greens were in excellent condition; soft, allowing good backspin on approaches and greens were very smooth and true on putting.
Dormant bermuda grass fairways were excellent. They were mowed higher to allow the ball to set up and make good contact. Most Georgia courses this time of year have shortly mowed fairways that produce tight lies and hard to hit solid shots. Tee boxes were lush and excellent.

I was very impressed with the course. The fairways were in great condition and the greens were well maintained. Plenty of bunkers and they were all raked and in great shape. This was my first experience with Brasstown and I will definitely be back . We were very lucky with the weather for mid November. No sunshine, but comfortable. I played in shorts and short sleeves. The staff were extremely customer friendly and accommodating. I will be planning a return trip with my wife so she can be pampered in your outstanding spa and also enjoy the beauty of your awesome course.

The Good: A beautiful course at Brasstown Valley Resort. Not a true mountain course; a "links course" as the starter put it. Not quite that, but very open. Undulating terrain, lots of water and bunkers. The latter were more like Florida courses than mountains. Several "bite off all you can" tee shots, plus some blind ones. The greens are unbelieavabye fast and with the slopes you can easily putt off the green. Fringes have a slight hump to prevent that, but that makes it tough putting just on or off the green. Course is in great shape all around. Very friendly and helpful staff, and a great deal too.

The Bad/Ugly: Course marked with 150 yard flags and on cart paths, but really needs more. Get a yardage book and/or range finder. Course doens't return after nine. Halfway house closed; cart did come around though. Greens are crazy fast; better stick it or it'll roll off. Worst: Pace of play. Lack of markings, carts on path/90 degree, blind shots, environmental areas, crazy greens, etc. will feed this. Two foursomes of foreigners - one male, one female - were making a day of it. Every green looked like a surveying party. I finally just skipped a hole to pass them. Nice courses at reasonable rates can bring out the duffers, so check the tee sheet accordingly if you can.

Definitely one to play!

Friendly staff. Course was in great shape. Approach shots require iron accuracy. But you do have a good chance for an up and down to save par.

This is a very generous course but offers a challenge none the less. It has a range of tees to offer all levels a very enjoyable golf experience in a most beautiful mountain setting.

I have played this course several times and I finally broke 90 with an 89. I am 63 and played the white tees which are third back from the front. You couldn't ask for a more beautiful setting but be prepared for a challenge and you will want to take along a camera to preserve the memory.

This course is challenging as well as beautiful. Great value at reduced fees

Good variety of holes - par 5s are unreachable for most of us.
Some of the the par 3s have a lot of slope in the greens.
The course is in good shape this year. the greens are smooth.
My only complaint is the waste areas are all part of an untouchable eco system. Thus there are too many weeds growing which takes away from the scenic nature of the course. On hole 13 the weeds totally block the view of the fairway. Thus you have a really blind tee shot over the weeds which are about 20 yards right in front of you.

Brasstown is a great course, nice variety of open fairways and narrow challenging holes. The course is long with no turn around, food and beverage carts are on the scene. The course is in emaculate condition, always well maintained. It's a bit pricey, Golf Now makes it affordable.

This is a beartiful course that is in great shape. They have cut the "jungle" rough back some, but the bermuda grass rough is still VERY tough to escape from. Keep it in the fairway and you will have a great time. Due to all the recent rain, the greens were very receptive and rolled well. Nothing like the fall in the "Enchanted Valley"!

Good news: Friendly starter, course well maintained, greens recovering from aeration are slower with longer grass, beatiful mountain scenery, good layout, great practice putting/chipping areas and towels provided in the carts. Club house is well stocked with popular merchandise brands.

Bad news: following 2-foursome groups of ladies with le-de-dah attitude on slow play. I've played behind slow groups of male players so it's not a gender thing, but an attitude that gauges their game; it's not a bad thing it's proper to sometimes pick up and move-on. Their slow play created backup of all groups behind them having to sit and wait; otherwise, the course could have been player 45-60 minutes faster. Had good rate via GolfNow, but the $70 resort rate is over prices, in my opinion.

Very well maintained and a very nice course. I would reccomemd this course to anyone who enjoys playing golf.

This course is a test of your shot placement. Off line shots are likely to find a bunker and that will add up over a round.
Great test is a wonderful setting.

This is the course you must play if you are in the Ga. Mountain area. Great layout, perfectly maintained great deal through golf now. Beautiful mountain course.

When in town, I always make it to Brasstown Valley. The greens had been aerified Mon and Tuesday, but it wasn't bad. Rolled out pretty well for just having done it.
As I always do, I fixed at least 3-4 ball marks on each green and put out two buckets of sand filling in the few divots I found. I figure it's the least I can do for them opening up the place to golfnow. What a great deal.
The tees and fairways were perfect. The greens had been punched, but it was still ok. Glad I went. When I got there is when I found out they had been airified. I usually look closer when I sign up, but the price was so good, I didn't care.
Another 4 days and you won't even know they did it.
