First trip to St Simons
Sea Palms was recommended at my home course as a course in good condition on St Simons. The fairways were in good condition and the greens were rolling fast after a club championship. I was paired up with three guys who were long time friends. We played a twilight round, finishing in 4 hours. It was a fun, entertaining group on a course that played fair from the red tees, for me.
Enjoyed course. Was not told driving range was closed when we asked for directions to use it.
Great course perfectly located on the Island
A bit pricey but affordable with Golf Now discount.
Great value
The question I ask myself after a round at a new place is this: Could I play here everyday and be happy? And to this course, I would answer yes. It’s a straightforward layout with excellent conditioning. The par 3’s require some well struck middle irons and the par 5’s require some strategy.
If you can play it for less than $100, then definitely do so.
Sea Palms
Course is a fairly wide open resort course, sparse Bermuda rough, fairways not over seeded, most holes straight or mild dog leg between houses. No driving range. Played King and Prince twice before this one, much nicer course with spectacular 4 holes in the marsh on the back nine.
At least the course was good
I give this place a 5/10.
Pros:
The course was in good shape.
Finished playing 30 min ahead of pace.
Carts were clean and digital display was nice
Cons:
Outside staff wasn’t around upon arrival and not helpful
No beverage cart
Driving range is located across the street from the 3rd hole (currently “under repairs”)
Lack of signage between certain holes on the course
Course is overseeded and in great shape
