The Club at Osprey Cove

The Club at Osprey Cove is a nicely designed course. It’s both challenging and scenic. It’s a private club with some non-member play allowed after certain hours. The greens were recently aerated so they weren’t their best on the day I played but are usually very nice and fast. The staff is very friendly and ‘most’ of the members are friendly to non-members..

You have to be 100% accurate off of the tee or you will never find your ball. There is no first and second cut there’s only 6 inches of rough right off of the fairway. Anything out of the fairway is lost and requires a drop and a wedge to get back into the fairway. Didn’t notice that the ground was too wet to cut the rough, they just chose not to I guess. I will not be back at this course until they get the mower fixed and cut the rough to a normal height. It’s unfortunate, this used to be one of my favorite golf courses.

The course has plenty of potential which they know and are working on. The cart paths are in decent shape, grounds are good, and overall experience is worth a try. The club house is new or newly updated. It does seem they are working on bringing the course/facilities up to a next level but just not quite there yet. I’m sure this will mean costs will rise as have all others in area over last 10 years. All in all, good round and I’d return.

Nice course, challenging design, and friendly staff. I did not use the bar/restaurant so not sure about that aspect of the club.

If you’re not in the fairway you’re in trouble, 4” rough was difficult to deal with and to find the ball, this made pace of play slower than it should be, fairway and green side traps and bunkers were good for the most part

Osprey Cove has always had a great design. The holes along the marsh and inland are well done. Condition of the course was ok. Fairways were pretty thin and the greens were fairly slow. We had no one pushing us or in front of us. Didn't see a cart girl all day. All in all a fun day of golf.

I played here after reading reviews and I usually stop to play somewhere on my way home to NC. First, what a great place, very well managed and friendly and inviting pro-shop staff.

The course had some recent rain but was still in excellent shape. Greens rolled true and were good speed. Except the one I was 50% short. That was greens fault! Ha ha. My pace was 2:50 to play 18 holes and I hit a couple balls from time to time so it was quick and not rushed. I’d play here every time I am coming through.

If you can get out there you won't be disappointed. Greens roll true, fairways are actually green and have grass unlike other courses in the area.

Always love playing Osprey Cove. It's in excellent shape right now. Greens aren't in credibly fast, but are run moderate speed and are in great shape and roll true. Fariways were close to perfect. A few tees were a little sandy, but it's been incredibly hot in Florida. Take your NoGnats spray, you'll need it on the holes near the marsh. The day I played it was a bit breezy so that helped keep them away. I recommend having a fan on your cart if you can bring one. Overall the course is a great one to play. Hope they have it fixed by now, but the security gate treated the neighborhood like Fort Knox. Even showing them my Golfnow tee time email didn't get me in. I had to call the pro shop and they had to send me an entrance QR code for them to let me in. First time that has ever happened but hopefully they will get that worked out. Otherwise, come early or you could have 20-30 min wait at the gate. But overall I love this course and it's one of my favorites in the Jax area and is definitely worth the drive to St Marys, GA. Beautiful marsh views on several holes and a fun layout. (restaurant inside is currently closed down and not sure when it will open again - so bring snacks or hit up the cart girl as often as possible.) But you won't be disappointed playing Osprey Cove.

Clubhouse is in practice out of business because the Fire Safety Inspector closed them down last October, '25. So, no kitchen, no food, no beverage, no clubhouse amenities.

The pro shop is open and the young man in charge gave me bottled water.

Now, the course itself is in very good shape, especially considering the current heat.

Excellent practice area near the first tee. Putting green was reflective of the course greens. There are a couple water stations on the course. (Important because restaurant/bar is being remodeled and no Sunday beverage cart). Friendly Professional staff. Course in solid shape. Looking forward to playing again. Awesome finishing hold!

Expect a 6 hour round, greens littered with divots, and a very simple course layout

Should be a $30 course charging country club pricing

Nice course, well maintained. Layout is good but nothing out of the ordinary. Definitely play again.
