This was my first time playing the course. Growing up we always heard what a beautiful course Thoroughbred was. They had some big events and it’s claimed to fame was the architecture and how well they preserve the nature around the course. I know they struggled for a few years with some irrigation problems and some other issues. I read the reviews, and I was very nervous to play the course. I am so glad that I did. This place was absolutely beautiful. It was in much better shape than I even expected it to be. Every hole is a little bit of a drive from the previous green and not only is the drive beautiful but getting to the next tea box at every hole is its own experience. The staff was extremely friendly. I will absolutely be back and I recommend anyone to play this course. Patrons of the past and first give it a shot. I promise you won’t regret it.

Love it as very few golfers enabled a slower pace of play where I could focus on improving my play…PUTTING!!

Need to play this once at least to know how to play it. Need to work your way around. Just about every shot from a fairway is a side hill, or up or down lie. Greens small but in good condition. Most greens slow and receptive, we played in wet conditions.

Its obvious after playing this course 10 years ago and revisiting that it has been let go. Trees between fairways have not been trimmed, weeds have been allowed to grow, restricitng the playability. There are some great holes here but it has not been taken care of as it should have been.

Would’ve been five stars except for the bunkers need work. Everything else was well kept.

Very nice and friendly course. Each hole is by itself pretty much so it's nice and spread out. Course in good shape after the winter, still has some growing in when it gets warmer. I certainly will be back.Small proshop with Drinks, dogs/bratwurst. Driving range available.

Jimmy the Manager shows up in a greasy t-shirt yelling at me saying I stole a cart in front of about 20 other golfers. Then mocks my religious beliefs. Also overheard him calling other staff members “idiots”. Pretty said he is in a people business with absolutely no people skills. Unbelievable!

Played this course on Saturday and the Manager Jimmy came out in a greasy tee-shirt yelling at me nearly attacking me in front of children and other golfers. Unprofessional, unacceptable rude behavior and not wearing golf attire. This place is a joke. This guy should be terminated. What an embarrassment to the game of golf.

Double JJ Ranch Thoroughbred Golf Course is an absolute gem and a must-play for any golf enthusiast. One of the more difficult public courses in the state. There is not much room on many holes off the fairway.

Love the scenic layout and undulating greens. Must play if you want a challenge.

OK we were just here if you want to go in the end of July when they re-opened up and the greens were horrible but now I’m playing October 5 Thursday only one on the course unbelievable and the greens are at least twice as nice and twice as fast as they were so they’re making their way back. The fairways are coming back really nice. The tea boxes are still a little spongy and a lot of moles, and so forth but the fairways and greens are are coming back. That’s the great news is still $25 played by myself in less than three hours from the blues Shotwell And the bones of this course are just still fantastic from Arthur Hills. I don’t know how I stay in business I’m the only one in the Sundance salon having lunch at 3 o’clock maybe I don’t know I don’t have a reason why this place just does not get any business here. It’s only work 20 minutes from Muskegon an hour from Grand Rapids I drove almost an hour to get here but it’s worth it the serene, peaceful quietness and you’re by yourself gorgeous Arthur hills, Leo And only $25 and now I’m gonna have a nice signature burger at the salon which is very nice also so unfortunately I have nothing but good to say but we need to get some people here so they stay in business. They did invest a lot of money and clearing out the brush cutting down a bunch of scrub stuff back in the spring, so there are spending money on the course get up here and play Arthur Hills, Thoroughbred

Oh, we came on Thursday, July 20, 2023 and they just reopened after being close last year for irrigation issues. OK the course is still in really rough shape but it’s on the mend. The biggest improvement is that they Musta hired a company to do a lot of brush hog, trim work all around the course which opened things up fantastically at least the reinvesting into the course. I do not really encourage playing it right now. It was just the only thing that reopened in that it was $25 each if the course is in Primo shape of beer $75 course played hear back in 1997 and it wasn’t Primo shape and we used to come up late in the afternoon for a twighlight about the same price of $25. Has the most elevation change of most any course around feels like you’re way up north and hilly as can be Arthur hills really utilized the layout of the land here to the max and if you play from the Tips you better bring Reagan because it’s a 149 slope rating issue so I would encourage to wait maybe a year right now is not the time but we could still have fun playing there it’s just in really bad shape. Unfortunately the greens were super shaggy waterlogged, plugging, etc. but the food is good at the steakhouse, so go for.

Been playing here for years and now I am very disappointed. Was a great course and very well kept. Double JJ bought the course last year and it is very obvious the money and resources are not going into the course. Burnt grass, tees not being mowed for days at a time, cup edges grown over from not being changed. bunkers not maintained with 10 inch weeds growing in spots. Golfed on the 4th of July and our group had both carts not make it back due to not being charged. Terrible that the rates went up and now a once beautiful course is heading downhill just like the other Double JJ course The Thoroughbred. The past owners of Grandview would be disturbed to see the course these days.

This is a great course! Rough was thicker than normal and greens were very soft. It can be tough if you spray your t-shot.

Well...first off...proshop could not find our Golf Now reservation...which of course we know was placed hence this review request..

Then on the 7th hole(?) Fairway is an abandoned cart...and at hole 14 we knew what that was about as our cart was almost out of juice..it died for good at 18..we pushed it up to the lot. So someone is not charging or they have not replaced batteries whose life is long over.

Gal in photoshop was apologetic but no offer of a free beer or free round...sad...but so typical of Double JJ customer service.

My friend and I had a great round of golf. The greens and fairways were in very good shape. The roughs were a little deep and made for more difficult shots, but your supposed to be in the fairway anyway. The weather was perfect and we had the kind of round that make playing the game fun.
