Challenging and Narrow, in very good shape
For me, this is a very challenging course, it definitely rewards fairway play and penalizes a player for hitting in the rough or OB. This is a fun course, and very narrow, greens were in great shape and overall so was the whole course. Would play again.
course was in great shape and very challenging from the back tees. but managemen problems made the day less than it should have beent
Staff were very friendly and course was in great shape but the owners/managers were in a fued with the resort owners so there was no club house, resturant or bar facility. The pro shop/starter house was a temperory office trailer and there was no beverage cart, food or alcohol available for the guests. The day could have been a great experience but was simply a day of golf with no other fun features.
Great Design with Potential
This course was a fairly young course but with its designs and unique character, it definitely has potential to be something special. When the greens mature and their condition are thinly cut, it could be a very difficult course for your short game. Would certainly re-visit when I go back to Northern Michigan.
This is one of the most beautiful courses in Northern Michigan. Every hole is a treat for the eyes.
I try to bring my golfing guests to play Hawkeye because of it sheer beauty. Everyone should play it if they have a chance.
