The Inn at Bay Harbor

About The Inn at Bay Harbor
The Inn at Bay Harbor made a splashy debut in 1998, instantly becoming one of Michigan's grandest resorts. The 116-inn, which includes one-, two- and three-bedroom suites, as well as 35 cottages, became a part of Marriott's Autograph Collection Hotels in 2016. Guests get pampered with a full-service spa and salon, two restaurants and a cafe, a small beach and outdoor pool on Little Traverse Bay and access to 45 holes. The 27-hole Bay Harbor Golf Club, thanks to an incredible setting that roams through an old quarry, forest and along the lake, is regularly ranked among the top 100 courses in the country. The Crooked Tree Golf Club across the street delivers more panoramic water views.Facts

Beautiful course!
Not the most exciting course I’ve ever played but the weather and the views on some of the holes made up for it. Course conditions are excellent and the overall experience was exceptional!
Very nice starter
Very friendly starter (host)
Play was a little slow due to the foursome I front of us
Course is beautiful
Golfers Beware
This golf course name describes the layout - crooked. Most fairways are dog legs. The course itself is in very good condition. Greens are large and difficult. There are many blind shots and the only course description is provided on an App that didn’t work. Make sure you have a range finder.
Scenery was beautiful..
However I cannot recommend this course because of the unbearably slow pace of play. Our start time was 1:30 and if we had played the entire 18, we would have finished at 7:30 pm.. The course was sold out for the day, so there were many frustrated golfers playing behind us and some asked to play through until they realized it was useless. By the time we reached the 10th hole we were waiting 20 minutes on every tee box.
There were no Marshals and no attempt to speed up the 6 foursomes causing the delay. The 2 people working when we left at 6:15 pm (after playing 13 holes in 4 1/2 hours, ) rudely informed us that they knew about the delay and turned away..
It was an 80 degree day and when we made the turn, there were no water cups or ice.
Overall it was a very unenjoyable experience.. Boyne Mountain rResorts wanted our green fees but did not provide the service we deserved.
Great option at Bay Harbor
Every 9 at bay harbor is amazing and while I had played Links/Quarry a couple of times, I had never played Preserve before. It is wonderful! The golf is every bit as good as the others, it just lacks some of the views you get on Links/Quarry. It is more traditional up north michigan/tree lined, etc. Don't let that turn you away though, you can often snag a discounted tee time for early or twilight for a routing that includes the Preserve and you will love it. As with all the courses at Bay Harbor, conditioning was excellent.
Best round ever
I can only rate this course as excellent as I shot my best round ever.
Don't play late in the day.
My wife and planned to play a nice quite 9 holes on the Preserve. When we got to the second hole there was a backup and a group coming down 7 to the shared green between the 2 holes were screaming and laughing. They had tipped their cart over and seemed very drunk. Not what I would expect on a prestigious course. The have starters on this course but they don't seem to care about the pace of play or that people and partying pretty hard on this course.
Incredible
Fantastic track with a diverse layout. Every hole is special. The staff is Wonderful. Love the elevations. I'm a 10 handicap, but I would suggest playing the tips! You'll enjoy it even more! Definitely coming back!
Good views. Recently aerated and didn’t tell me or provide a discount. Fairways were nice. Definitely not worth the price considering the other options in the area.
