The Inn at Bay Harbor

About The Inn at Bay Harbor
The Inn at Bay Harbor made a splashy debut in 1998, instantly becoming one of Michigan's grandest resorts. The 116-inn, which includes one-, two- and three-bedroom suites, as well as 35 cottages, became a part of Marriott's Autograph Collection Hotels in 2016. Guests get pampered with a full-service spa and salon, two restaurants and a cafe, a small beach and outdoor pool on Little Traverse Bay and access to 45 holes. The 27-hole Bay Harbor Golf Club, thanks to an incredible setting that roams through an old quarry, forest and along the lake, is regularly ranked among the top 100 courses in the country. The Crooked Tree Golf Club across the street delivers more panoramic water views.Facts

Was beautiful but very slow, only because of one group, which we never saw a ranger
Crooked Tree
Beautiful spot
We love the open fairways and hills
Back 9 has many views of beautiful Bay Harbour
Solid Course
Played after links/quarry, which might have diminished crooked tree a tad. Still a very fine course, great condition and pace was fantastic. A couple holes tighten up if you don’t hit the fairway, so an accurate tee shot is a must or you might get frustrated with the OB.
Would recommend, but they’re are plenty of equally nice courses and quite a few nicer courses up in the area.
Great Views, Great Course
So this was the first out of a group stay-and-play thru the Highlands. Overall with the 5 courses we played the value was excellent; however, the single play is quite steep—definitely recommended the stay/play, great courses and great room accommodations.
The course was fantastic. Views out there are only matched by a few courses here in Michigan and the overlook onto the approach and green on 18th is spectacular. Zero issues with pace of play and the course is very fair, there just a few holes with construction on-going or nearby otherwise this would be 5/5.
North Michigan holiday, weekend, Have played crooked tree before and looked forward..Would be higher rating but informed before round at check in that 2nd hole closed for repair, told to take a birdie on my scorecard and they would discount round by 10%…, disappointed not to know this when I booked for me and my son, and later called to add nephew ,, otherwise course in good shape and nice pace
Beautiful course!
Not the most exciting course I’ve ever played but the weather and the views on some of the holes made up for it. Course conditions are excellent and the overall experience was exceptional!
Very nice starter
Very friendly starter (host)
Play was a little slow due to the foursome I front of us
Course is beautiful
Golfers Beware
This golf course name describes the layout - crooked. Most fairways are dog legs. The course itself is in very good condition. Greens are large and difficult. There are many blind shots and the only course description is provided on an App that didn’t work. Make sure you have a range finder.
Scenery was beautiful..
However I cannot recommend this course because of the unbearably slow pace of play. Our start time was 1:30 and if we had played the entire 18, we would have finished at 7:30 pm.. The course was sold out for the day, so there were many frustrated golfers playing behind us and some asked to play through until they realized it was useless. By the time we reached the 10th hole we were waiting 20 minutes on every tee box.
There were no Marshals and no attempt to speed up the 6 foursomes causing the delay. The 2 people working when we left at 6:15 pm (after playing 13 holes in 4 1/2 hours, ) rudely informed us that they knew about the delay and turned away..
It was an 80 degree day and when we made the turn, there were no water cups or ice.
Overall it was a very unenjoyable experience.. Boyne Mountain rResorts wanted our green fees but did not provide the service we deserved.
