Fantastic October Day For Golf
Beautiful setting. Fairways were green but vey over watered. Many mushy spots on fairways. Greens were ok. Looked like greens and fairways had not been mowed in a few days. Pace of play was good.
The Mountain Views!
Course great- end of year— Saw only one other group!! The views are what you pay for!
What an improvement
Played earlier this year and the course was in poor condition ! Looks like they have read the reviews and took it to heart. Keep it up and we will return.
Just need a few tweaks ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
The last three times I've been there, only two of the three 9 hole courses have been available to play...
Greens were pretty fuzzy, to be fair they were mowing the greens behind us, but it also seemed like we were the only folks on the course that day, and they knew we were the only group booked.
The views here are excellent, second to none, just beautiful. All three course layout serve wonderful as well, my favorite is foxglove, unfortunately we weren't able to play that the last three visits...
Could be just a seasonal thing but the restaurant is rarely open and they have a hard time staffing it, it seems,. That being said that's probably the only reason that I am not giving this more than 3 stars.
I had a unwelcoming experience with the person working the pro shop... his attitude was less than acceptable and it seemed like we were inconveniencing him, this is the one thing that is unacceptable to me.
I will definitely come back, more than likely not until the summer though, I just hope that these things (customer service especially ) improve.
Good course ruined under new management
Used to be great course in good conditions. But under the new management it seems that they never mow anything. The tee boxes are like hitting from the rough almost. The fairway are also way to long. The greens are so slow you have to hammer the ball so get it across the green. Good layout if they can figure out the maintenance moving forward.
Total neglect
This course was the worst I've ever played. Total neglect. Fairways were like playing in the rough. Sand traps were basically unplayable. Rather than try to hit from them, we called them ground under repair and took drops. So many leaves on fairways you couldn't find your ball. Cups on the greens hadn't been changed in so long the grass was growing over the edges. Other than that it would be a great place to put a golf course!
Golf pro needed to oversee course.
We played on Pinecone and Foxglove. The course was poorly maintained. Typically grounds crew skims the greens in the morning to eliminate the dew on the greens. When it is not skimmed as we found out, a putt exhibits a rooster tail when hit and travels half as far. Foxglove was in worse shape and failed to show definition on the perimeter of the fairway as it looked to be some time since it was last mowed. Lack of definition was due to both dry stretches and overgrown stretches of fairway. Each of our foursome lost a ball in the fairway on that 9. You had to drive the cart half speed on the fairway or risk jarred kidneys.
This course once was a proud and fun course to play golf. Current management is currently not investing properly in the course and maintenance to provide a good golf course. I hope things turn around for all involved.
no care for this course
I have not played this course in years but live near here. I have been absolutely disappointed in the care of the resort in the last 5-10 years. Now the golf course is in complete disarray and uncared for. In the past it has been a beautiful course well maintained. Now its horribly maintained, if at all??
Don’t recommend
The course is in bad shape. It is not maintained well at all. Many tee markers were missing and four of five holes had the black, blue, white and red markers at the same place due to other spots not being maintained. Pace of play was great as not very many people were playing.
Fun to play
I’ve always loved this course but it seems like the maintenance has gone down hill a bit. A lot of muddy spots that you have to avoid. And remember to bring your own snacks because there is no food available. I was surprised that the restaurant/ bar was closed.
Beautiful location and layout. Fairways could have been better.
This resort golf course has great potential. Spectacular views of tall hills, forest, ponds, and valley. Although the greens were good, the fairways were somewhat problematic; needed to be mowed more frequently. The drought we have had in the western U.S. the past couple of years has been hard on golf courses. They are keeping things watered here, but the uneven maintenance of the fairways made it tough to hit approach shots to the green. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed and the restrooms at the pro shop and restaurant were not available for use. It is worth the trip to play the course to witness the beautifully laid out par 3s over water.
Extremely disappointed!!
I really wanted to like this course. However, we found the conditions TERRIBLE!! It was obvious that the fairways had not been mowed in at least 4 or 5 days, as the grass was long and the weeds were sprouting flowers that were 6 inches tall!! The greens were also very slow and furry. Add in that there was barely any sand in the bunkers, and it was just a terrible experience all around!! SO glad we only paid $28 to play this course! The ONLY good thing about it was that all of the staff was VERY friendly, polite and helpful.
It’s only going to get worse. I know if your interested
