Creek Course #9 Photo submitted by GreerGolf on 06/06/2017
Horrible turf conditions
Fairways are rock hard with poor turf. Rough is burned out with lots of bare areas. Every green is a different firmness. Course conditions are worse than many, if not most $30 munis. I recommend you avoid this course.
Golf Course Not in Playing Condition
I did not know that there were major construction work being done on the course. They should not be charging that kind of money because of the condition of the course. Many of the hole have been torn up. Customers should be informed about the construction and given the choice of whether they want to play or not. My money could've been better spent.
Quality Experience
The layout of the Oaks is extremely challenging in that you must place your tee shot well to avoid tree obstruction to your approach. The greens are well manicured and contoured to excite the best of putters. The fairways are fair and well kept. We played a 3.5 hour round in our threesome.
Worst course. ever
From start to finish worst course of all time , should be shut down & blown up . dont go there please save your money
Construction!
I enjoyed most of the course but found out, while playing, that 4 holes were shortened due to on going construction. They have 3 - nines, Lakes #8 & 9 were shortened substantially while Creek # 1 & 9 were shortened with 9 having a temporary green about 90 yards before the real green. Also, my cart hadn't been updated that #9 on Creek was opened (guess it was closed earlier) and it wouldn't let me proceed until I called the pro shop and they reset the cart.
Hill Country Under Remodeling
There is so much going on to remodel the course and its practice facility, it is hard to get a true rating if enjoyment. What was normal, makes these 3 nine hole layouts a good challenge. There was one temporary green and two modified tee box making this really to Par 35 layout for each nine. The greens were okay but very hard to read that makes it really a great challenge. I was notified of the construction modifications ongoing before I set the tee time.
Poor
Poor course conditions. Limited range irons only. Poor directional signage. Temporary tees and greens. Greens fees were way too high for current course presentation. Disappointing at best.
Really great day
Yes the construction is a pain and not being able to warm up a bummer. But the place will be great when the project is done. The holes not affected by construction, which is all but 3 on the holes i played, were great and the greens are tough but consistent. Looking forward to another round when the project is done.
This course had active construction
Course played well though had active construction zones that re-aligned and relocated some holes.
Not up to par
My husband and I are avid golfers and have played quite a few amazing courses. We were looking forward to playing here as it received good reviews and was within a hotel/resort community. There was a lot of development activity happening on the course to improve it. I think we just went at the wrong time. Some holes were great, while others seemed not as well maintained. This added to the challenge but not to the ambiance. I wouldn’t return until after construction is completed.
Beware
This course and resort amenities are under major-construction. It's a mess. Multiple holes are shortened due to construction. No driving range just a small area setup to hit wedges. Par 4's and par 5's are turned into short par 3's or extremely short par 4's. Greens are like Velcro and tee boxes are rough.
This course has a ton of potential but I would stay away until
all renovations are complete. If not, you will be disappointed .
The field was in very bad condition and with very little signage, the application should report when a club is under repair or maintenance.
Construction OnGoing
I knew it going in, but the construction going on really is putting the damper on the whole course. Shortened fairways and temporary greens make it a little difficult to fully enjoy. Would play again if the green fee was more reasonable to accommodate for the noise, construction, and temporary fairways and greens. Once construction is done it will be top notch.
Dishonest
We arrived for our tee time and were informed they had a tournament booked, so we had to play the Oaks 9 twice. When we asked why they took an 18 hole booking, they falsely blamed Golf Now for not telling us. Then on top of having to play the same holes twice, # 9 is under construction and we had to play a temp green. Then to add insult to injury, we weren’t able to use the range to warm up, because “it was far away and they had to take us there, but couldn’t because they were too busy.” We complained to who we thought was the starter, and he said “it’s not my fault”.
Uncaring, bush league, unprofessional.
