Creek Course #9 Photo submitted by GreerGolf on 06/06/2017
Unfortunate
Unbelievable. Pace of play was horrible. Granted we’re experienced golfers with decent HC. After waiting behind a slow group of men on the lakes course for five holes they finally waved us through and we completed that nine. Looking forward to playing the next nine on Creek’s we were told by the starter we had a group two holes ahead. Relief. Well that didn’t last long. We caught them very quickly. Well looking in front of that group was a party of “ 6 “ !!! I couldn’t believe it. First and foremost 6 period is a huge No! On a Saturday?? Really!! It was just absolutely miserable.
Lost prestige
I’ve been to this course many times over the years. This time it really just completely lost it’s prestige of being a “resort” course. The course has not changed, the routings are the same, however; the greens are slow and rough and the fairways are not as lush as used to be. Bunkers are hard packed and not raked and smoothed out. The range is no longer provided with unlimited range ball. One would get a tiny bag of beat up range ball and that’s it.
Since I used TeeOff app and got a hot deal that saved me some money otherwise, it would be even more disappointing. The staffs are cordial but not very friendly nor helpful. The starter is more interested in chatting with friends than to inform players of their approaching tee time and get players in position to tee off.
Like I said, this place no longer has the prestige of being a “resort” course yet it continues to demand the resort course fees. This course is just a regular public course that over charges anymore.
Nice course, good pace.
This is a beautiful course and just challenging enough to make it a little harder than your normal open course. Greens are smaller than normal in my opinion making it a tad harder and there aren’t many straight holes, it was certainly lots of dog legs and target type golf but wide enough fairways to be a little off on your tee shots, which I was more often than I care to admit. The rough can be challenging to hit out of but all in all this was a fun course and the pace of play for a Sunday was very smooth!
Great Pro Shop Pro.
Great day had a slight booking issue however I can’t say enough great things about PGA Professional Ashley. She assisted us and got everything squared away. She really went above and beyond. The Course as usual was is excellent condition always a great time and a must play if your in San Antonio.
Fun course, great layout.
Course has a great layout which makes it somewhat challenging. Elevation changes demand solid chip shots are you're going to struggle a little bit in saving par. Nice course that's well kept.
Good day but slow play
Marshall’s should really patrol the course and get slow groups to let faster players through or get a slow twosome to speed up especially when a foursome is waiting before every shot.
The greens were rolling nice, the fairways could have been maintained better and the rough was inconsistent on every hole no matter how far from the fairway we were. Sand was well maintained. Cart girl skipped us twice by going a different route, that was bad on a hot day.
Water areas are poorly maintained. These areas used to be very well kept and highlighted the beauty of this course but now the grass is overgrown near water, algae everywhere, way too muddy anywhere near those areas. There was also excessive trash right off the fairways on the lakes course.
Good Day for Golf
Good course and pretty challenging i just wish that there was water in some of the creek streams. I will be back to play this again.
Good course
Played here for the first time. I've been told this course its not in top notch currently. There are definitely some obstacles which make it interesting. Our golf cart was not working properly which returned at turn.
Will play again as time permits.
Hidden gem in the hill country
Great course layout. Abit I’d difficulty that’s more of a mental challenge than physical but great course overall!
Great value for the “Hot Deal” price!
Got on a little before our tee time. Pace of play was great this afternoon. We played in under four hours.
Awesome course, just busy and could not get to the driving range due too not enough lanes. Other than that the course was great!
First/Last Time
Played this course after hearing fantastic things... course itself was beautiful and well-kept. Pretty challenging, and you will lose balls for no apparent reason.
However, they had a tournament in the morning and left the course an absolute mess. Beer cans and trash everywhere with leftover signs blocking access to the tee box on several holes. Not one employee to be found on the course to regulate play and we had a 12-year old playing at a snails pace in front of us. Also, the cart GPS had corporate sponsors ads every few minutes that wouldn’t go away and let us see our approach shots.
Having a tournament is awesome... but clean up the mess when you have afternoon tee times! And, keep the 19th hole open after 5pm if you have tee times after 3pm.
Beautiful course, but expect to be frustrated with service, availability of water/drinks or any employees.
