Creek Course #9 Photo submitted by GreerGolf on 06/06/2017
Very well planned course
The course is very deceptive, from the tee it looks like you have a very narrow fairway, but after your drive the fairways open up to reveal a very fun and well kept course.
Still a great course
Caught a good deal on GOLF NOW Booked it and had a great time. Wish we could have slipped in the LAZY RIVER NEXT DOOR. IT WAS HOT.
Short and tight
Great course in an excellent location. Extremely scenic and the pace of play was unbelievable. It often felt like I had the course to myself.
The course is short and tight . If you can consistently hit a 3 iron off the tee this is what I would recommend. Put away the driver
Great Course
No complaints about this course; great condition, great views, great challenges, great value for the cost, great clubhouse/food, great golf carts included with GPS. Will definitely be back multiple times in the future.
Last minute holiday tee time
So it was week of the 4th and my and kids all had to work so I was free. I decided to book a tee time and the am round starting before 8am was a great deal at $63. I played Creeks and Oaks. The recent aeration did make the greens a little bumpy but the course was in great shape. Round went quick as we played as I was grouped with a twosome and another single. Staff were great and answered every question I had. I enjoyed it so much I came back 3 days later and played Creeks and Lakes for $40 with a early am tee time with a buddy.
Greens poor
Unfortunately the greens had just been aerated. Could have waited until after July 4th holiday
Hidden Gem in the Hill Country
Very nice course in the hill country west of San Antonio near Sea World. I have played all 3 nine hole layouts and like them all. The GolfNow coupon was an added bonus.
One of the best courses in San Antonio,Tx
Great course to play on , has three courses to choose from. The course is immaculate and the staff are very courteous. I enjoy playing there whenever I can, took a friend there that has never played there before and he was very impressed with the golf course, so impressed that we are playing there again this week.
Great Course
Played on a Friday morning, 9 on cedar and 9 on oaks. Tee boxes, fairways in great shape. Greens on cedar still filling out, only negative. Great, challenging course!
Excellent course. Must play if you live in San Antonio or if you are traveling over the weekend!!
Mediocre.
Not bad and not great! Greens and fairways can use work. Not a visually compelling course and did not care for the three nines layout. Played Lakes and Oaks nines. Pace of play was very slow and no marshals to keep golfers moving along. My wife and I would not play this course again.
Resort GC Staff
The GC itself is in great shape, but the usual resort course expected service was lacking. No one at the Bag Drop Area, Water Bottles upon purchase..... it's not what I am use to. BUT the Restaurant, Locker & Shower facility were at par with Private Club ratings. Overall I would play again. 4⭐️
Risk/Reward allows for great scoring
First, I am a fan of Arthur Hills designed courses. Half Moon Bay in California, Wingpointe (sadly now lost to us) in Salt Lake City, Legendary Run in Cincinnati, and The Legacy in Las Vegas are all favorites. Straightforward golf is what I like. Go for it, you risk a stroke, be successful, and you get at least par. The Lakes/Creek 18 at Hill Country Golf Club is much the same. No one hole stands out as a signature hole yet many holes give one a Tin Cup "go for it" mentality. If you miss, you are in the water or dry creeks and taking drops. Playing safe on this course will guarantee your handicap stays in place. The Par 3's are easily the toughest holes. Strategic bunkering and undulating greens, with several moving front to back are a great test. The pro shop is top notch and the Antlers Lodge for food and drinks also is highly regarded. Service is outstanding. The course name is a misnomer. No hills to be found with the exception of Arthur!
