Fun and Challenging
I had the privilege of getting to play here with a member, however, you can play by staying at the resort as well.
This course has a little of everything. I am still new to the game of golf and felt this course was appropriately challenging for my skill level.
The front 9 plays more open and wide followed by a back 9 that is more in the woods with more water and terrain hazards than the front 9. There are a few front 9 holes in particular that are extremely birdie-able. Hole 12 has a fairly difficult split fairway as well.
Also, hole 18 is extremely tough, so be prepared! This course was a ton of fun to play! I hope to someday play the Norman course as well!
Nice Track
Nice track with fun elevation holes and nicely designed greens. Big numbers if you’re spraying but it can be pars if you hit 2 good shots.
A little pricy. Carts are mandatory so it took 2.5 hours to play. Convenient location at resort.
Great Conditions
Hadn't played Lansdowne in at least 8 years. Course was in great shape especially with recent hurricane. Greens were outstanding - only needed to fix a few ball marks. Fairways were so good we played it down. Can't wait to play it again!
Fun way to spend less than two hours
I absolutely loved this experience. The nine-hole par-32 Sharkbite Course is just right if you're looking for a quick round that won't beat you up. The greens are small, and there are bunkers, so it's not super easy. Still because it's not long, everyone can play it. In fact, from the front tees, it's less than 1,000 yards, so it makes for great family golf. Good players, though, will like it, too, since they can hit every club in the bag.
Lansdowne's best resort course
Wide fairways, interesting greens and not too many forced carries make this course a most resort friendly golf course at a resort/club that offers a wide variety of golf. While the RTJ II Course is very playable, though, it's also a good challenge from the back tees for good players. It's also has a wide variety of holes (including a tree in the middle of a bunker), undulating greens and different looks throughout the course. Combine that with great views and a complete resort, and you've got a great golf experience.
