Very Nice Par 65
Although it is a par 65, the course played very fair. There are 9 par 3's. Some are very challenging. Course was in great shape.
Don't show up with a persistent slice
I don't have a persistent slice, but that didn't keep many of my drives and 2nd shots from disappearing into the woods off the severe side hill mountain slopes. Many of the shots have a blind landing area, so no finding the ball. Fortunately the greens will hold your iron shots, as they are old-style dirt-based. And they are smooth and undulating for some fun putting. Tee boxes are chopped up, but hey....if you are using a tee, why let that bother you? Friendly staff and not too busy made this an enjoyable experience.
Vacation
Course was in good condition, but very difficult to keep ball in the fairway
Great time
The course was him great condition and the layout was fantastic. Would play it again anytime.
Excellent course
Great greens, excellent fairways. True mountain golf. Have your straight game. The only suggestion I would make is more definition of hazards to speed up play in the woods. Stake it out, give options. Great course.
Not a part 72 course
It was a Nice course I didn’t realize it wasn’t a par 72
A real good Mountain course to play
The course was in great shape and it was fun to play, but the slow play was bad. Had no Rangers to speed up play one group of three slow course
Hot day cold staff
Have played this course every year for the last 15-20 yrs on our family vacation. Course is in decent shape. Pro shop, ranger and beverage cart friendliness has gone down over the last few years. However the prices have gone up a lot. Probably explains why the number of people on the course has gone down. Moreover, couldn’t get any GN discounts due to the time restrictions and the courses making you pay at the course.
Great course
The course was in very good condition and the layout is awesome! Would definitely play again!
Great course, good challenge
This was my first time Playing it, it won’t be my last. The conditioner were good and course is obviously well maintained. I read some reviews where some people complained about gophers, I didn’t see a single one or evidence of gopher holes either. I did see a groundhog or two but they were in the woods not on the course or even in the rough. Be prepared to play the hills and slopes for sure which is definitely a by design challenge. Golf is called golf not by the name of east for a reason. I’m a 12 handicap and shot a 88 for my first round there. Literally the only thing I didn’t encounter on the course that I would have liked on a 90 plus day was a beverage cart. So load up at the start and hit grill for more at the turn.
Super nice and convenient course. Some good target golfing if you like target golf.
Do yourself a favor and know the Driver won't be your most used club (after your putter of course).
Aggressive Gophers
Very good course, if gophers can be gotten under control? First time I had to use my club to push away an aggressive gopher! Holes are all over the place and not just near the greens. Otherwise enjoyed playing here again and will come back again.
MORE GOPHER HOLES
Just like the meadows course here, the gophers are taking over and ruining this beautiful course! Someone needs to work on getting rid of these pests. Anyway, course was more challenging than The Meadoows, but still fun to play. I actually managed my first birdies in several years, so made me happy to play on.
