Great fall rates
Course was in great condition for the fall. Rates are better than a lot of other courses at this time.
Great course
Well maintained with open fairways and not too many hazards. I really enjoy golfing here especially for the money!
Decided to play it spur of the moment
This course is not worth it. We decided to play it spur of the moment because the weather was so good. The front nine ruined it for us. It's a complete joke with blind shots and a par 5 the good players can't hit driver on unless you really want to bring a lot of trouble into play. To top it off we waited on EVERY shot. I WILL NOT BE BACK!
Great Sunday
Wife's first time at Chula. We had a great time. Good course for a beginner. Good price. Fun course. Good variance in different holes. Had fun.
Great little course
Short and straight but a fun little course. Several drivable par 4' s and some difficult par 3's. Actually a pretty course and played crazy fast. No really trouble holes and little woods in play
Nice Course, not overly challenging for average golfers
First time playing this course and I found it to be in excellent condition. The staff was very friendly and helpful to a last minute GolfNow reservation. This is not one of the more difficult courses but you will enjoy a pleasant round in a beautiful setting with rolling hills.
Fun Challenge
Great short course with character. Par 3's are the most difficult. A fun challenge and we'll maintained!
This course is two courses in one.
I play in the Wed. Seniors which adds to the overall enjoyment of the golfing. A great bunch of guys to share links time with. Staff always seems to be friendly and helpful. The course gives you old time golf on the front nine with a more links view on the back. Clubhouse burned down last year, can't wait to see how they replace it, if it follows the rest of the resort it will be very nice. There are three championship style courses in the Dells, this by far is the best value.
Friends loved it.
Great day for golf. Enjoyed a lot. Friends from Japan loved it.
Short and Gimmicky
Nice track for an older golfer who can make shots. Many short par 4's with elevation changes, doglegs, hazards, etc makes simple holes a bit more challenging. A good place to get a low score!
Two differing 9's
The front 9 has some challenging holes and plays a bit tight from the 3rd thru the 8th. The 9th and the back nine open up and becomes a links style course. My favorite hole is the short par 4 3rd hole which goes right and uphill to a small green. Great for a fader of the ball!
The only problem is that this course during the weekends gets backed up and a round can be close to 5 hours. All in all, a decent course and if the price is good, I would suggest going, particularly if it's during the middle of the week.
Looking forward to a new clubhouse, as the old one burned down over the winter.
Fun
Shorter course, but it I tight and tough! Worth it if you pay under 30 dollars
Coldwater
Excellent time and course,, We will play it again soon.
The Canyon
Overall the course is pretty nice and in good shape. How ever their can be some confusion in taking cart paths to get to the right tee boxes. You can expect a pretty tight front nine while the back opens up quite a bit more but there is trouble if you don't hit it straight with a long rough and wasted bunkers.
Promising
There is a lot of construction going on to improve this course and that should really elevate my ratings when I come which I will due to the improvements to be. Disappointed the beer cart was never fully stocked with what was advertised
fun course to play
An old course with a new links style back nine .Fun to play, tight fairways, but still forgiving on some holes.
Front and Back 9s are like playing two different courses.
This is a challenging course with a wide variety of hazards. The front nine is designed similar to most of the nicer courses in the Dells area... the back nine has a definite Scottish flavor. The entire couse is ball hungery, should you not hit the fairway. The clubhouse/restaraunt/lounge are nicely done and friendly.
Short yardage course with challenging hazards
Coldwater Canyon Golf Club is a private club that primarily caters to resort cliente. The course yardage is shorter than most that I play on a regular basis but has an interesting mix of challenges. Black tees were less than 5700 yards which might be less than White tees at many other courses. Par threes are sometimes longer w/ strategically placed trees, dips, roughs, etc. that make it challenging when not landing on the green on the drive. Course was well maintained and the cart path was easy to navigate to follow the holes through the 18 holes. GolfNow price was well worth the time to drive to the course for playing there the first time.
A favorite
This course is one of my favorites in the Madison/Dells area. Beautiful setting. It is always in great shape and it's very playable for the average golfer.
Two courses in one
Very nice to play two distinct courses in one 18 hole round. Both are in excellent shape. The old course puts a premium on driving accuracy. The new course, a links style, gives more room for driving errors and is a pleasant change of pace.
