Beautiful course, well maintained, greens were in awesome condition. This is a great course for a mid handicapper. Go early to see the crocs.

Not bad.

It was closest on the strip to our hotel.
Crocodiles and iguanas were cool..
But nowhere on golfnow was there a warning that the front 9 was closed.
A real drag to come all this way and not get to play the whole thing. We played 9 twice.
They did warn us of greens aeration though... (Never seen it with a full layer of fine sand) which made green play different.
Overall we shot really good scores - it is definitely an easier course...

Great holiday golf !

The greens were being airated so we played the first 9 twice which was great as we have played the full course many times and personally I prefer the first 9.
Very relaxed and friendly open fun course even for a beginner. My golf has improved since getting used to this course.

The Staff made the Difference

Had a beautiful day and a fairly empty course in the afternoon to play. We started on back nine which is much tighter than the front. We were also becoming disappointed because we hadn't seen a crocodile during the back. We had been warned about them and there are many signs around. We were richly rewarded as the front nine was much more enjoyable for lower skilled players such as ourselves and we saw three crocs of varying sizes. The staff was fantastic with the beverage cart showing up just when a refreshment was in order. Overall a 5 Star experience.

Story on the Crocs

I went with great trepidation when I read the story on the Croc attacks. I saw several on the course but never got closer than about 40 feet. I played with a ex-patriot American who lives in Cancun. He told me the last attack occurred when a native went into the swamp looking for his ball. Came upon a Croc and went back to the cart in order to feed him a sandwich......led to the attack. This was probably not a good plan.

Course is fine but not terribly difficult although a couple of the par 3s over water are challenging. Wind is up in the afternoons. Well worth the price if you get the special on Golf Now

Smelly Alligators

Place was convenient for me to play. Since it was located a couple miles from the hotel I was staying at. Other than that. I wasn't impress with the course's conditions and cost. I was also warned about alligators thru out the course. In a way that might be exciting and fun for some, but was not for me. Ball did run into brush a few times. Although it was visible and easy to recover. I chose to leave it and donated. Ball and game was not worth me getting attacked by any alligator.

Nice and Descent

Course well manicured. Close to the hotels. Staff were very helpful. However, everything in the pro shop is way too expensive. Would have loved to have purchased a souvenir.

Very Good Resort Course

Was a little leery of playing after seeing some of the reviews but course was close to hotel so thought we would give it a try. Booked the 12:33pm tee time from Golf Now for $90 when times before and after were almost $50 more. Nobody knows why. Fee was all inclusive...on course food, on course bevies, then drinks in club house house after. A truly great deal for the price. Course itself is actually very nice. Good layout and level of difficultly for a resort course. Staff all very nice and accommodating. Will play again.

I feel I have to warn you

I'm in cancun for nine days. I decided to just play one round so found a deal on golfnow and booked it. Got to the course and tried to rent clubs. For 50 bucks you get a set of 1993 Calloway with mixed shafts... Some regular and some stiff. The clubs are twisted on their shafts so they don't line up properly and have huge dents in them. The decals of the back are missing and long gone and I was given two sand wedges and no pitching wedge.

The course is reasonably conditioned but dry. The greens roll true. The bunkers are completely unplayable. There are not reliable yardage indicators and no GPS. With heavy winds on a new course this also makes an enjoyable round of golf very difficult.

The pace of play slowed to a halt and I realized they had let 4 singles and a two some off in a row.

When I hit number 7 I just couldn't take it any longer. I walked of the course because I would rather have wasted 200 bucks and still have a good time on the beach or playing somewhere else.

You can play here if you want but ONLY if you bring your own clubs, find a very discounted rate, get and early tee time, and bring a laser range finder or your own gps.

I cannot recommend this place at all.

Fairly relaxing course

Fairly generous fairways on most par fours. You can try to cut off distance on a couple par fives if you dare.

Spendy but fun

The round was about $420 for 2 of us. Rental clubs were really old and for that price should be updated. Fairways were wide and in great shape. Lots of water and sand to make you curse. Right in hotel zone so very convenient. May or May not go back.

Great course; conveniently located

First time at an "all inclusive" golf course and was pleasantly surprised. When ordering a beverage from the cart, I was informed that no payment was necessary. Course was in great condition, with lots of water, sand and waste areas present to defend par. Extremely convenient location central to the hotel zone. Have to keep watch for crocs on the course. I hit near one resting in a waste area, thinking it was a log. Needless to say, my ball remained near the croc. Following the round, relaxed with free food and drink at the clubhouse. The reduced Golf Now rate made the experience extra special.

Solid resort experience

Pretty typical resort course. Straightforward holes, wide fairways and easy to hit greens. Amenities were nice; free food and drinks. The staff was very friendly. It wasn't crowded so our round moved at a nice pace. Close to the hotel zone.

A solid course with a croc problem

I enjoyed my round at Iberostar Cancun. The course was challenging, especially when the breeze kicked up. Ponds, bunkers and jungle hazards seem to be everywhere. The only reason I can't recommend the course is the safety concern over crocodiles. Several recent attacks have highlighted the issue. Obviously, thousands of golfers play here every year without incident, but golfers should be warned - and warned again - just how aggressive crocs can be. Don't bother looking for that lost ball in the pond, jungle or waste bunker. Just drop and move on. That's the best - and only - way to enjoy this experience.

A Tropical Treasure

Great greens! ...rolled true & fairly fast. Palm trees swaying in the breeze, mostly open fairways & iguana/crocs waiting in water hazards. Very good rental clubs (Calloway), cart/beverage service was always timely.

This course was a surprise. Great course and fun to play

My friend and I were looking to play, and with him from California and me aroma Michigan we both had high expectations. First we found the all inclusive thing a nice touch, Second loved the course. It was fair, not gimmicky while still challenging. You can get into a lot of trouble if not careful, but that only comes with errant shots. Out of bounds usually means you never find the ball since its In The jungle. We also found the wildlife to be interesting (crocs). I would play again and recommend to both the low handicapper as well as the mid level person. I would be careful about playing in the middle of the day since it does get hot. Course is easy to find too
