Don’t let this happen to you!

The course advertised 3 different 9’s, Mountain, Ayorro and Ocean. When we get there we are told we can only play Ocean the other 2 are private. I asked why they advertised all three courses, of course no one had an answer. We were tild we needed to play Ocean twice. Then we get out there to find the fairways have NO grass and we were hitting off of dirt! The sand traps are an absolute disaster! We paid $115 plus taxi, to play probably the worst maintained course I’ve ever been on. When I mentioned to the starter that he could have warned us s about their lack of grass he totally ignored me and kept walking! Just wanted to share so someone else won’t have to suffer through the same mistake we made!

Should have read and believed the prior reviews!!!

We played this course in admittedly the hottest conditions in August however we did not anticipate that there would be no grass on 90+% of the fairways. They should give up and let it return to desert. Do not pay to play here.

Disappointing and Not worth it

The course was very disappointing and almost unplayable. The fairways were brown and hard, every hole. Four out of nine holes, I had no idea where the holes were because the flags were lying on the ground next to the green. I had to place the flags in the holes before finishing the holes. I paid to play 18 holes, but I stopped after 9 holes because of the conditions and I was told on the turn that I had to play the same 9 holes again if I wanted to play 18 holes. I've stayed at the One and Only Palmilla a couple of times in the past and have played their courses. The One and Only Palmilla should be embarrassed to have their name associated with the Ocean course. They should give a full refund to me and any other golfer who is unaware of the conditions and not told before making a tee time.

This course in no longer playable

The course is not playable anymore, fairways are dry and hard. The staff told us that they are closing the course anytime soon, so I wouldn’t recommend spending your money there… 9 holes are public (ocean course) so also you will have to repeat the caos if you want to play 18 holes.

Worst golf course ever

I’ve played on cow pastures in Texas better than this place, they wouldn’t refund me my money. The fairways were dirt and dead grass, a lot of sand all over the course that wasn’t sand traps! Do not waste your money!

Pamilla

Course is super dry. You can only play the ocean 9 twice. Grass is dry but playable but i wouldn’t recommend it at this time. Amenities included were good, great selection and staff is excellent. Paid like 150$ for myslef playing and a rider . Value was ok but course is in dire need of water. Not sure how the private side is, but id wait till the tains come to play again, but then the price goes up !

Pass: avoid!

Do not play this course. Used to be a beautiful set of three 9’s. Similar to everywhere in Cabo they have taken two and made them private. 18 here is the same 9 twice but no one tells you until you get there. There is no grass and course is in non-playable shape as effort is now on the two private 9’s. Can’t believe I had to pay for this- hugely disappointing and at this point close to a scam!

No grass in fairways

Wish I would have been told on how bad this is. Played it before and it was great. Not a blade of grass in any fairway. I asked for refund and was denied

Love the Layout, All around it was a good value for the price today. Service was excellent. Was not informed of the mandatory Food and beverage and the price of it.

Overall, I’ll be back to play this course again

Terrible course

Fairways were dirt and burnt grass. Bunkers had more rocks than sand. Forced to play same 9 twice when 2 other 9 hole courses were available due to our discounted price. Worst course I’ve played since I was in middle school - 65 years ago.

Was not aware I booked on a course they were not watering

Fairways were brown and dry because the Oceans course was not being watered. I was told at check in that's why the rate was discounted. We only played 9 holes. Other than that the course was ok, greens appeared to have just been sanded but they were green at least. Would have been nice to know that when I booked, it may have changed my decision.

Why?

Everything but the Ocean Course condition is 5 stars! The fairways have been poisoned and they are not saving them. The word is out it will be closed down soon for renovations and used for other purposes, some golf, some not. The 9 hole layout is wonderful and it will be missed if this is true.

Other than course, which is why we play, the amenities and staff are great and friendly!

Avoid this golf course

The public are only allowed to play the 9 hole ocean course so for 18 holes, you must play it twice. They are not watering the fairways so they are all dirt patches. The tee boxes are terrible, most not flat and covered in weeds. Save your money and play somewhere else.

First time - Pamilla Ocean Course

Fantastic course, challenging and complicated but one of the most fun courses. Lots of dry gorges. Be prepared to abandon balls if you're off the fairways LOL, the foliage had thorns that will bite you hard.

Play early, cause it gets really hot really fast overall I loved this course!

Very enjoyable

Just the right amount of challenge for a resort course. Staff are excellent. Comfort stations are an added perk. Booking again soon.
