Challenging
All good, course in excellent condition, great 😊 d carts, friendly staff.
Beautiful Golf Course
Beautiful Golf Course. Open Fairways Friendly Environment. Greens were fast and under great conditions. Loved my whole experience!
Price does not match value
Knowing that this is one of the most expensive courses in the area, I expected it to be one of the best courses in the area. I was disappointed. The staff was friendly and treated me well. But the course was in terrible condition. The grass on every surface needs attention and it looks like the course has received no water for months. The greens were spotty and inconsistent with many patches where the grass was brown, nearly Brown.
Despite my complaints, the course is definitely well laid out and could be a great challenge. I enjoyed the look of the course and I found that the layout suits my game. Even though this was the first time I played and my handicap is still 13, I was able to make my round with a decent score. If the course were in better condition and if the price better matched the other courses fence in the area, I would play again.
An awesome day on a great course
Had a blast out at El Tigre. Caught it on a really windy day which made it challenging and fun. The greens were smooth and fast and the course was in really good shape. Great track.
El Tigre
Course is in poor shape. Very thin fairways, tee boxes are pathetic. The layout is great. Greens have no grass…..sand…..and are lightening fast, I mean unfairly fast. Hard to read greens that are splotchy with sand and very little grass. Glad I got a hot deal and didn’t spend $250, twice (wife plays).
Posh
This is a nice course, and if it were in Palm Springs it would easily be in my top ten percent of public courses. The land is completely flat, but between the bunkering, speedy greens, mounding, and water water water, not to mention the ample wind, there is plenty of challenge here. Many interesting holes goving you plenty to think about. The course is surrounded by houses, but they are all new and immaculate, and if you like real estate, it adds rather than subtracts. Make no mistake, this is high end stuff.
On a practical note, I paid $112 USD which gives plenty of room for enthusiasm. I see the reg day rate is 400 bucks which is pretty otherwordly. The French Canadian couple I played with were lovely and said they are 15 year members, and gave a price which seemed great for that length of time.
I will come back, assuming we can do it at a number that works - which includes the 15 year membership. :-)
Always a challenge
El Tigre is a good test, even from the white tees. Plenty of sand and water to contend with. Many of the greens are protected by the numerous lakes and intimidating stone walls that will play havoc with any shot that is even a bit less than optimal. Greens were fast and some had some extreme undulations. Bring lots of golf balls.
