Hot deal ? I don’t think so
Booked through golf now. Was supposed to be a hot deal at $102. USD ( approximately $138. Can ) Turned out that after tax was almost &125 USD. Ok fair enough tax is a fact of life. The shocking part was if you book a none hot deal the tax was $.40 USD . Forty cents compared to over 17 dollars USD . Further more the course is in Mexico why would USD have anything to do with fees. Why the huge difference in tax? Makes zero sense. You asked I respond.
Great course
Very playable beautiful course. Good deal on Golf Now
Fun in the sun
An abundance of water and sand made it very challenging. Could have been a few more signs to direct us from hole to hole. Beverage cart non existent until 9th hole
Taming the Tiger
Always a must play course when in PV. Staff and course always in impeccable condition.
The rough seems a little higher, so keep an eye on where it ends, almost had to be right on top to find it.
Rough was ridiculously long. It’s not right to lose your ball 2 ft from the fairway
Great course...
For this time of year, the greens were a little slow for my game, but they rolled true...
Good But
The staff at the pro shop not very friendly, the course is quite expensive compared to better courses like la vista or some in USA
This course was in good shape
Surprised how good of shape course was in after hard rain.
Good hot deal
Great course but wouldnt pay regular price. There are many challenging holes. The gps on the cart is great and the 2 bottles of water on ice in a cooler was much appreciated. Staff was amazing GRACIAS/THANKS!!!
Horrible course marshall made for a terrible golf outing
A group of friends and I visiting Puerto Vallarta chose to play a round together at El Tigre on a weekday morning. We were two foursomes and excited to try out this course. When we arrived the staff checked us in and we immediately ordered food & coffee. We got our clubs and warmed up for about 30 minutes. There was no sign of the food and we decided to tee off to stay on time. After about two holes, we were stopped by the cart girls to get our food and pay. Then we continued to play the round. Part way through the front nine, the course marshall came up to us and told us we needed to pick up the pace. He was rude about it, but we knew it had taken a few minutes to get the food we ordered when we arrived, which delayed us probably 5-10 min. We acknowledged this and started playing more quickly. After 1.5 holes, the course marshall came back to us aggressively and told us we had to start playing best ball because we were too slow. He said the pace is 4 hr and 30 min and claimed we were 20 min off according to the computer. We told him we would continue to play our own ball, but pick up the pace. After the round, we discovered the computer was actually set to 4 hr 15 min pace, so we were only 5 min behind. The marshall was incredible rude and didn't seem to understand that we could only move so fast with a foursome who have never played the course. In addition, we were stopped every 2-3 holes by beverage carts, which we started skipping to speed up. This person created a miserable experience for both of our groups when we were there at a resort course to have a fun time. It's a real shame and I will never return.
Decent course
I read a review that greens were punched in July and that is still the case mid August. Overall, I didn’t mind the course, would play it again but not for the regular rate. The layout is good, i wont usually play a course with houses all over but this one didn’t creep into my head much. I played the white tees and not one driver, my own choice as the range was closed due to rain accumulation. I played ten par 5 with 7, 5 and a pw. And still had a birdie putt. Decided this route because of houses on right side. Other holes i hit 5 w and never had a problem accept for some wind as 5w is lofted but is between 240-270 for me. Missing fairways isn’t as punitive as the Marina course where a double can be the price of a miss. Would play again. Staff were good
Great golf course !
Course is in excellent shape the PGA Latinoamerica dev series final must be this weekend so a lot of the tour players are practicing I followed a group of three and they didn’t waist anytime although I hope the green speed picks up for them I feel they are under speed min 11 would be nice for them . I would definitely recommend playing this course .
Hot garbage
Course is under major repair. Bulldozers and workers on the course. No sand in most bunkers, just black tarp. Greens were aerated recently and still sandy and healing. Even the fairways were punched and dried out. Yet still charging regular rates. Cheaper to play nearby vidanta Norman course which is in pristine condition. Although Nayar course is under repair.
Full price?
I understand the time of year and the courses tend to dry out down here but it should be priced accordingly.
Another major contributing factor to my displeasure was 75% of the bunkers on the coarser under construction.
You honestly would think off-season and course under construction it would be priced accordingly.
