Hotel Casa Velas and Velas Vallarta

Course was great, staff ,food and ease of getting a taxis was also great. Only complaint was the greens were a bit slow and bumpy, looks like they are dealing with a fungus problem. Pretty awesome to chip up on the green with a 4 foot iguana walking across! Worth the play

Excellent staff, very helpful and welcoming. The only thing was the greens are horrible, recently punched. Would have liked to known that before booking.

This course and the Weiskopf Course are beautiful. Not terribly difficult. The rough was highly grown and the greens were recently shaved which added some difficulty. Great layout. Great value and so much fun. The pro shop ladies were not friendly but the bartenders were extremely friendly. We'll be back.

The course was closed due to rain that morning. We booked online with our contact information provided and did not receive a call or email to inform us they were closed. It cost us $60 round trip from the resort we stayed.

If you are to play any course in PVR, play Jack. The views are tremendous. The course's layout is inviting. A wonderful experience all around.

I really liked the Nicklaus Course. We played Weiskopf on Tuesday. They are both great courses.

Fun course with generous fairways (usually) and scenic jungle views. Greens were slow and a little bumpy, with some kind of thin lines on them which acted like grain. Not sure if this was from aeration or what, but it affected speed greatly. Par 3s were all really good. Reviews suggested the Vista Vallarta courses would be a better option than the Greg Norman Vidanta course; I am guessing these holes had more variety and elevation than Vidanta but I suspect better conditions would be found at Vidanta: besides the greens, bunkers were not well maintained, combination of hardpan and wet sand. Rain from night before was likely cause here but still could have been better. Overall decent value for the money and it was a fast, fun round

I played with my wife who is a beginner but we had a great time because it is the slow season and we played after 1:30 which is the twilight rate. A little hot but fun. We are playing the Nicklaus course today.

The course was challenging due to the windy conditions. When I went there were making improvements to the course and was not informed prior to going via email nor was it posted on their site. We got to go play the first nine holes twice to make up for the remaining course.

I am an avid golfer and have played man of golf courses.

Greens were good.

Front desk provided no warning of crocodiles. Should been made aware to all customers.

The back 9 is closed due to green repair. We paid for 18, but only played the front. They offered to let us play the front again, but not what we expected. Parts of the course were fine, but felt understaffed (possibly because it’s June and low season) and not well kept. The rough was Rough. Greens were nice and the fairways in good shape. We may play this one again when the full 18 are open. Won’t be rushing back though.

Great layout through the jungle.Greens had been aerated but it wasn’t bad.

Unfortunately the greens had been punched a few days or weeks earlier and were very poor. No mention of this by course. Disappointing as it has been a good venue in the past.

We lbad no idea that onl after we booked. If it was in the notes prior, we missed it. Most of the workers were great and considerate. Several others stayed on the course in front of us as we were hitting. One in particular was awful. He was grooming the green and as we were hitting from 100 yards away. He clearly saw us. When my wife was in a green side bunker 30 feet from the pin, he continued to circle the pin while she attempted to hit.
