The young lady that helped me was very pleasant and helpful. The course itself was mad much easier with the mowing of heavy fescue and other areas. However, the bunkers and sand traps are unacceptable.
Horrible course conditions
Paid $83 a person for this?? Every part of the rough is dirt if you have nice clubs i’d leave them home. Every sand trap has weeds and grass in it, and or the sand is rock hard. The new systems in there golf carts are horrible the zones you can barely drive anywhere, and you need to stay like 50 feet from green before cart shuts down. Staff was okay but didn’t like my complaints and kinda got snippy. just an fyi there pictures they show are not anything close to the course. I can play a public $45 per person course back here and it would still be 20x nicer and more fun to play. Yes I get its still June but come on guys it’s been some month of warmth. Oh also mowers where going as we were playing. I had high hopes especially for the price but it sure let me down. The course in albia is 10x better and way better bang for your buck
Fun Course
Although the fairways were spotty from fungus last year, the course is a lot of fun to play.
Amazing Course, Hidden Gem!
This course was great! You barely see any houses the entire round, holes are challenging yet reward good shots, greens were in good shape. This is the best course I've ever played in Southern IA, I will definitely be back!
Bunkers need work
Drove 4.5 hrs to meet up with buddies for a golf weekend. Greens were good. Fairways had lots of patchy spots. Bunkers were unacceptable. All over grown with weeds and hardly any sand. We played Friday through Sunday and never a new pin location. The edges of the holes were getting beat up. We had fun but were expecting better
Nice course in Iowa , had the course pretty much to myself.
Nice layout with lots of character
Played this course by myself as I was in the area for a meeting. First time playing the course and would highly recommend it. It has been a dry year so the rough and fairways were not always in perfect shape (but overall still in good shape). The greens are larger, were in excellent shape and very receptive. They also rolled well and at a good speed. Played the first nine without any traffic - but ran into some traffic on the back - but the group ahead let me through on the next hole so pace of play was very good for only one golfer. If I am ever in the area again - will definitely try to play this course again.
Nice fairways and fast greens
The greens were in great shape and still fast even after a solid rainfall the days prior. Also can catch a couple solid views of Lake Rathbun and native Iowa prairie grass everywhere throughout.
Beautiful course. There wasn’t a ton of rough between the fairways and the prairie grass so you had to be somewhat accurate. Big greens, well kept tee boxes and some very picturesque holes. We had a good time.
One of my favorite southern Iowa courses
The course was in great shape considering how dry it has been in this area. They did not fall aerate so the greens were fast and smooth. The course has a great layout with the holes spread out so it feels like you are on the course by yourself. We played n under 3 hours.
Very Nixe
Was in Iowa from Texas and booked this course and loved it. Greens are in excellent condition and fairways r cut good. The rough where good but stay out the bushes because your ball is a goner. The sand traps need some work but overall the course is awesome and staff was very friendly. Thanks for th 18
Great Experience
We visited the Preserve for a golf trip at were not disappointed. The only part of the course not in great shape was the bunkers. Everything else was excellent including the course condition other than the bunkers, the staff, layout and pace. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking to get away for a weekend of golf at a fun course with a relaxed atmosphere.
