This course is not a championship track but is playable and fun. Cost is very reasonable and staff is friendly . Recommend giving this golf track a visit.
Alpine Bay Golf
Alpine Bay has been reopened under new management and their has been many improvements. The greens are really good and the fairways are in the best shape they have been in years. The staff is friendly and they appreciate their customers. The food at the grille is good and everything is priced well. The course is very well designed and with a variety if tee boxes, the course is a pleasure to play for all skill levels.
The course has character
After being closed for 18 months, the course has been reopened for less than a year now. This Robert Trent Jones Sr design is a great lay out and with all of the work that the new owners have done, the course is a pleasure to play. The staff are friendly and appreciate the golfers that come. Most of the greens are excellent. They have two or three that are still being worked on but they are ok now.. The Grille has fantastic food and the food and beverage prices are more than fair. The cost to play is more than fair.
Course needs work
Cheap price with poor greens and fairways. Get what you pay for. A little more work would do the course some good.
needs work
Course needs someone who has money to come in and wirk on the course....greens where awful, and ciuld use fairway work too.......i remember the course once being a very nice place with a nice club house and facilities. ......not anymore....shame it is in the shape ut is....
Alpine Bay in Alabama
Course was in poor condition. All greens were in very poor condition! This course is for sale so there keeping it up.
Horrid greens
Did not play this course because the greens were in horrid condition.
The greens were horrible
Greens were the worse I have ever saw. No grass on most of them. Maybe later in year may come around.
Great value for a beautiful course that could use some maintenance.
Alpine Bay is on a beautiful piece of property with large rolling fairways and big mature trees. The rough can get very rough, but the fairways are wide. The course is not the best maintained course, but it was still a lot of fun to play. If you are looking for an inexpensive round and don't require a pristine course, then you would enjoy Alpine Bay.
Probably a peach after some spring weather.
I suppose at this time of year one shouldn't expect pristine conditions; so, for $17 including a cart, I can't complain, except that some of the greens had quite a lot of grassless patches where even the sand filler wasn't very smooth.
The course has great potential. Maintenance not great; green bare in spots and very rough. Some tee boxes were overgrown
Decent value for the money. Course was backed up, so pace was on the slow slide. However, this was on a holiday weekend. Need course marshalls to help speed up play on crowded weekends.
