Links - Nice layout fun to play
Played the Links just prior to (re-seeding) closure end September. Club house was also in process of rebuilding ( expected completion February). Greens and Tee boxes in poor condition. Course is a nice layout though and played well. Not long but lots of thinking involved - dog-legs, height differences etc. Enjoyed it.
Not worth $100
This course was not worth the $100 price I paid. No practice green no driving range. I was not told these amenities were not available when it was booked. With the current condition $50 is a fair do not to overspend here.
Goat track
75 bucks. And when the guy at the front desk said that its almost like he knew it was wrong to charge that. I wouldn't play it if it was free to be honest. Course conditions were terrible. Hitting off of dirt and weeds 90 percent of the time. Fairways, teeboxes, greens... all crap. Avoid this place. Not worth it even if they have a hot deal. Save your money and sanity.
Do. Not. Golf. Here.
DO NOT GOLF HERE. Cart guy WILL go through your bag while you’re checking in. I got heckled right when I walked out for having liquid death in my bag, three of them and got yelled at for having beer. If the as$$$$$ would have keep looking through my bag he would have seen they are waters. I was seriously about ready to fight him for A) looking through my bag and B) assuming I’m getting hammered on the course. There are plenty of other courses that are way nicer and cheaper. This place sucks. I have had a problem with either a cart or staff the 7 times I’ve been there. It is a waste of money and they have been working on adobe for a year. Trust me. Only thing good is you can get done in 2 hours as a single. But you’ll have a broke down cart (which they’ll blame you too) or sh&&& attitudes.
Stay away - not worth it
Conditions on the Links course were absolutely awful. Especially the front 9. $75 summer rate is a rip for this dump. Waldorf property too. Greenskeepers and Maintenance staff should be replaced. I worked maintenance at a public golf course and would be ashamed if I was part of this staff. There has to be disease on the soil because it was a cow pasture. The other course looked even worse. Was completely brown. Do yourself a favor and play a muni for far less. Or play a Troon or the Phoenican for the same price, if not better. Terrible. They should refund everyone for this place right now. Never again. Even in season. Woof
A classic course that still holds up.
This is one of two course at The Biltmore. I like this one best. It is far from a modern design and many consider it short. Regardless, it is a pleasure to play and I found some great conditions especially on the greens. If you prefer modern design, you may not like this one but for a classic course, this is a wonderful example.
One of two great courses at the Biltmore...play them both.
There are two courses at the Biltmore and this is the newer of the two. But this is not a power hitter, long, modern course, It is a thinking course and as a 16-handicap, a course I aim and pray hoping to pull it off. Generous fairways allow for some misses and great greens allow you the chance to at least make some putts to save a round. The greens were fast and it was a very hot day so I am not sure they were cut the day I played. I can imagine how fast they could get.
Play both course on this fine resort. You will be grateful.
Weekend golfer
Paid a lot of money to play a course with mediocre conditions.
Links
Links is better than Adobe. Way better views. Water on course. People at front desk are always nice. But there is a “ranger” or whatever. Two carts died on me, which I read in previous reviews that it has happened. I even videoed the second one, which I was on a cart path, will provided evidence. After the second one dropped off and I showed him the video, he comes back 1 minute later and tells me to stay away from the greens and hazards. Hence you I am a scratch golfer and know how to respect a course. But for him to assume I was being reckless after two carts died on me is infuriating. Him and the rest of the dudes who work outside (not the people at front desk) always have. Attitude when you roll up and you can tell they get annoyed when you ask for your range balls(Bc they have to go clean them up, wah wah). I only go to this course Bc it is behind my house and good pace of play at 2-3 in the afternoon in the summer now. Course is average shape but at least you can get a decent putt off. Don’t pay the $60, it’s not worth that at all. The $41 “twilight” rate is more than enough. GPS on carts at least. But you’ll get 50 notifications on the screen telling you to be in by 7 and a bunch of other nonsense that makes you have to touch the screen everytime to see your yardage. Annoying
Under construction
Short course with one temporary green. Pace of play was slow. I didn't see a Marshall on the course. If the conditions are over 110F I would prefer to have the Marshall out and move up the pace.
The Staff was amazing and friendly.
Nice Layout but in poor condition
I’ve played here several times over the last couple of years and have not seen the fairways in such poor conditions.. Charging $69.00 summer rates is ridiculous for a course whose fairways are over run with weeds, dead pan, and patchy greens.
