Thinker’s Course
Keep your driver in the bag on most holes. Lots of lay-ups and dog legs even from the back tees. Greens are good.
Really nice staff!
Arizona Grand Resort
The golf course was great. Very challenging layout and the views were spectacular. The staff were very nice too.
Great course
Course makes great use of the terrain. Imaginative and challenging holes. Well worth the visit.
Nice, challenging course !
Arizona Grand Golf Course is a nice, challenging course. The pace of play was great !
Bad conditions
There was construction on the course and know one advised us of that.
Loved it!
This is such a fun course. The front and back nines are so different, but both nines have their challenges and require some thought. I love sharing Arizona Grand with friends who have never played it, and everyone loves it!
This course has a variety of interesting holes.
We had fun and the course was in pretty good condition. Greens are on the small side and some fairways are generous. Back nine is pretty much desert target golf. Beer at $10 per beer was a little expensive. Overall we had a good time with good friends.
Desert golf course 🏜
I love this desert golf course
A bit challenging and pretty enjoyable.
Horrible Condition Golf Course
I never post negative reviews but this course deserves the worst rating ever. It is apparent that they do not spend very much money on upkeep for the course. My son and I were so disappointed to play the Arizona Grand. We will not be going back.
It's a Grand Course
The Arizona Grand is one of my favorite courses, because of the challenging holes. The restrooms are clean on the course and the flag placements are always a surprise.
Mislead
We were mislead from the first hole not giving us a heads up about the blind pond straight off of the tee. No descriptions of the w holes. Many blind tee shots with large slanted grades toward the water.
Good choice
This is a good choice for intermediate players. Challenging but great for being in the middle of
the city. My game was off but I look forward to playing there again
A different kind of golfing experience
I had never played this course before and was curious to see if the things I had heard about it were true. It turns out much of the rumors were right on, but not in a good way. Yes the layout was very different and in a few cases very difficult having no prior knowledge of the course. But that made the experience both fun and exciting as well as very frustrating and down right aggregating. The reason is there are many totally blind shots, many from the tee box. So you can easily get into trouble because you don't know where to hit your shot. And then hit awhat you think is a great shot only to find out it is in really bad place. Overall it was a mix of fun and frustration. BUT, the one thing that spoiled the entire day for me and my group was the insanely stupid and just plain ridiculous golf carts that are connected to GPS so that they won't allow you to drive them in certain areas. Yes I understand why you would want this. Some golfers don't know how to behave on a course and drive where they should not be. But come on... The GPS on the carts is so incredibly inaccurate that it literally stops the cart in areas of the course that are actually in play. This was incredibly annoying and frustrating. Also, the carts have a speed regulator that seems to be engaged all the time. It drove us all crazy because you could never get these stupid carts up to a normal speed. So for this reason only, I will never return to AZ Grand. It just isn't worth the aggravation.
Past go to course not so much now
I have played this course for many years and have always been able to complete a round in 4 to 4.5 hours. On this day we were told there was a tournament and they had just began starting groups on the course about 45 minutes prior to our tee time so it should open up after the first few holes. The pace was good ok up until hole 5 and then seemed to start slowing down. By hole 8 we saw the starter out checking on progress and assumed the pace would get better but it did exactly the opposite and slowed down even more. By the time 4 hours had passed we were just finishing hole 14, and had 4 balls hit into us by the group behind while we were waiting for the group in front to finish on the green or while we were finishing on the green over the previous 5 or 6 holes. At that point it was nearing 7 pm and we decided to call it a day as we were not going to finish anyway. We went past the group in front of us anticipating finding more groups and did not come up on anyone until we got to hole 18 (3 holes out from them) where we waited for a 5 some to finish teeing off prior to heading to the clubhouse for the night. Obviously there was one group which was the problem and they were directly in front of us. AZ Grand is just not living up to their past standards of good pace of play and courteous golfers as we had normally experienced in the past.
Frustrating
Have played this course every year for 30 years and this was the worst experience we have encountered. Took close to 5 hours to complete, not one course marshal on site and EVERY water station was dry on a 95 degree day..Someone needs to get a handle on what they want the public to think of this place.
