Arizona Grand Resort
About
The Arizona Grand Resort (formerly known as Phantom Horse Golf Club) boasts a challenging golf course, blending desert target golf with traditional links, playing par-71 over 6,336 yards, and a 7,000-square-foot practice green with a bunker and chipping area for a pre-round tune-up.
After a round at Arizona Grand Resort, head to an onsite drinking or dining spot: there's Mexican food, and then there's Southwestern dancing, and then there's a sports bar so you can catch up with someone else's game indoors or outdoors on the patio.
The Arizona Grand Resort also offers several packages, ranging from stay-and-play to family deals to getaways for women to romantic suite packages, complete with breakfast in bed.

Golfer Reviews
Horrible Pace
5 hours and only on hole 16 before we threw in the towel and just left. Ranger came by at hole 6 and stated first two tee times backed up the course but clearly they didn’t rectify that. When we were turning our cart in people behind us were leaving after hole 14 and 4.5 hrs.
DISAPPOINTED
Course was extremely shabby, and what's the deal with cart path only in summertime ? Possibly because they make the majority of their revenue off of winter golf and winter visitors they neglect the course drastically during the summer time, such a shame for such a wonderful course
Disapointing
Course very SCRUFFY
and what's with cart path only ? It's summer season NOT oversees season
Pleasantly Surprised
After I booked my tee time for Monday morning I looked at some of the other reviews about Arizona Grand and thought I was going to be disappointed. Far from it. The course is in remarkably good shape considering the heat and monsoon storms that had passed through. There were little issues here and there but all in all the course was great. I enjoy the challenge of the course, Victoria - the cart girl - was around every 4-5 holes and the rest of the staff was very pleasant to be around. I had a great time playing and will be back again. Thank you.
Nice layout but in terrible shape
This is a tight challenging golf course in bad shape except for the greens and tees. Most of the holes were cart parts only which made it difficult to play in hot weather. Most fairways were bare so the ball would roll a lot and oftentimes into trouble since fairways were narrow. The bunkers were rock hard and difficult to play out of. This course would be good if conditions improve but I would avoid playing for now since the rates are fairly high for the area at this time of year.
Disappointing Experience Due to Lack of Communication
We were excited to play this course, especially considering the premium price. Unfortunately, there was no indication when we booked, checked in, or before we teed off that the course was cart path only.
With temperatures over 100°F, having to walk from the cart path to the majority of the greens made the round much more difficult and less enjoyable than expected. We completely understand that courses sometimes need to implement cart path only restrictions to protect the turf, but guests should be informed in advance so they can decide whether they still want to play under those conditions.
The course itself was in fair condition, and for the price charged, better communication about significant playing restrictions is expected. A simple notice during booking or at check-in would have made a big difference.
Ari6grande golf course.
Great challenging course with some fairway repairs going on. Overall a great day of golfing. My only thing is $5 for a bottle of water is ridiculous.
Course in terrible condition
It was in such terrible condition, especially the first nine, that it was hard to even play. They’re a big clumps of dirt everywhere and places where there was no grass or it was being worked on. Almost all of the holes on the front line, you couldn’t even drive on the grass so you had to do a lot of walking.
Course is in rough shape
The course is in very rough shape. There are multiple "course under repair" sections not including the punched tee boxes. We were not told ahead of time that there were multiple holes outside of the Par 3s that were cart path only including multiple Par 5s. These are Par 5s that require not only walking, but extreme downhill traversing (hole #3 especially).
I would not be happy if I was staying at a resort, and these were the conditions that I was met with once I got to the course. Outside of the conditions, the staff is great and the food in the restaurant is good as well.
Horrid Pace of play
Ive played this course several times this year and have generally enjoyed the condition of the course and pace of play for the rate charged as compared to other local resort courses. We tee'd off on time (7:15am) and by the time we finished the 2nd hole, we were forced to wait based on slow pace of play. We were told by the ranger, Tom, on the 4th hole that their 2nd tee time of the day was playing slow and he had warned them to pick up pace of play. Front 9 took 2 hours and 45 minutes, totally unacceptable. Course was in terrible shape, bare spots all over each fairway and greens were not much better. I would suggest looking at other courses before booking here, very disappointing.
Rough conditions
Rough conditions. Shaggy greens. Quirky layout. Decent price at least.
Course Layout Good, Bad Shape
Layout was cool, Facility good but expensive, course in horrible shape. A lot of dirt and mud and crabgrass.
