Tempe golf course
Just prior to overseeding. Staff still Covid functioning. No food service. Staff friendly but their hands are tied.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us, u836999021. We are going to pass on your feedback to the team. Thanks for visiting Arizona Grand Resort, and we hope to see you again in the future.
GolfNow should tell you that it’s cart path only
Pretty pricey for cart path only AND they don’t mention it on GolfNow. Other than that it was okay. Drinks in the bar are well priced and the Bloody Mary’s are fantastic!

The course was getting ready for over seed
I would like to play when turf conditions are better
Back nine is challenging and completely different from front nine. 18 tee box has the best view of the metro area framed with the surrounding mountains

Not for the Timid
Some players say the course is tricked up. It is somewhat because it’s layed out through a myriad of homes, on a mountainous terrain, along canyons and ponds. It is always slow because it’s a very difficult course in a resort with first time golfers there on vacation. So play and relax. Admire the surrounding mountains. Expect a 5 hour round and have fun on a challenging course.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback as we will use your review to better the experience going forward. We hope you give us another try in the near future!
All the tee boxes are generally moved up together right now and lots of areas roped off. Not an easy course with lots of rolling and slanted fairways but not the most difficult I have played. The grass is rather dead now also.m and the greens varied as to their shape.
Hello u314162276632, thank you for taking the time to review us, and for the 3 stars. We're sorry to hear the course may not have been in the best shape on the day of your round. to official overseeding schedule which should start next week Monday, started today.
70% of the tee boxes were not available in reference to the yardage, fairways were been mown during our round, we lost balls in the middle of the fairways, one player of our group stopped playing after 8 holes.
It was a waste of our money.
We canceled our next round as you may know we have booked with you for coming Friday.

Great Course when not ready for overseeding
This has always been a great course. Unfortunately for us, it was getting close to overseeding time in AZ so there were a number of holes with freshly mowed dead grass in the fairways. Would be a higher rating any other time.

Played this course once before back in March and the conditions were better. Challenging but fun layout. Unfortunately this time the conditions were poor. Almost all the tee boxes were closed and moved and service carts and mowers all over the field of play (I’m assuming in prep for overseeding). Pace of play was at a crawl and no Marshalls out to help. I understand the season for course maintenance but was way overcharged for the conditions. Should reduce the fees for that period. Flew in from Colorado to play at a nice course and could have stayed and played at home with better conditions.

What I expected
If your not from Arizona then you would think the course was in terrible condition, however you have to keep in mind that at this time of the year most golf courses are over seeding or getting ready to overseed for winter grass, that is what is happing right now at AGGC . Yes the course is rough right now but it was still fun and once the new grass grows in it will be even better.
Hello, stngds9. We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We strive for a 5-star experience, so we welcome your feedback. We work hard to maintain the course for everyone's benefit, which means overseeding the greens as part of our regular maintenance schedule. The greens will be healed soon and in pristine condition. Please come back soon for the 5-star experience you expect at Arizona Grand Resort.
I was disappointed that many of the holes had piles of dead grass in the middle of fairways... Losing a ball into this dead grass was easy to do. The greens were not consistent in speed, and many tee boxes were closed for repairs, the tee boxes that were being used need to be repaired. All this for full price? I wish I'd have checked with the course to see what conditions were... I'd have played elsewhere.
Hello, wcs747. Thank you for leaving us a review. We are sorry to hear your experience was anything short of 5 stars, but we hope you will give us another try in the future. Thank you for choosing Arizona Grand Resort.
This would be a nice course and quite challenging under great conditions. They should warn the guests that the. course in under maintenance. They were power raking while we golfed and left piles of dead grass all over the fairways. Also some tee boxes were closed and you had to tee off a mat. The price was also way too high for these conditions

AZ Grand has gone downhill
I've played this course multiple times over the past few years, and 10/10/21 will be the last time I ever play it. This course has gone downhill, which is disappointing because the course layout is great. Greens are consistently inconsistent. Staff is unhelpful. There was no starter on a Sunday at noon, which led to confusion. The Marshall's on this course, I can't speak lowly enough about. It's clear they have no idea how to keep pace of play. In the past I've had a Marshall threaten us with being kicked off the course for pace of play, when there was a legitimate 2 hole gap between us and the group behind. On 10/10 at hole 3 I asked the Marshall how open it was in front of the group ahead of us (hinting at their slow pace of play) and was told it wasn't open. Either the Marshall lied or didn't know (hard to believe since that was the direction he came from) because my group skipped the foursome ahead of us on the next hole and there was a 2 hole gap ahead of them. Arizona Grand should have their "resort," status removed, because this is not a resort course experience. Ill happily play local municipal courses in the future instead.
Hello, coltonrwood. Thank you for reviewing the course. We would like to apologize for your recent experience.
We're sorry to hear you were less than satisfied during your round. We pride ourselves on our providing great service and the high-quality standards we maintain.
We would like to make things right. Please reach out to our management team at the pro shop.
We hope to hear from you soon.
I played this course over 10 years ago and it used to be one of my favorites. Built around South mountain, you have some excellent elevation changes, long, challenging holes and some great views. Unfortunately, it looks like they've let the course slip. We were hitting off of fake grass mats for 2 of the holes. Another hole had hardpack dirt for the teebox, where we couldn't get a Tee in. In reality, they are getting ready for overseeding, but the course shouldn't have been open in these conditions.
We’re sorry to hear of your less-than-satisfactory experience and hope you will accept our sincerest apologies.
We value our customers' opinions and would like to make things right and determine how we can provide a solution that makes you smile.
Please contact us directly at the pro shop. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
An average back 9 nestled amongst house and a motorway (freeway) and a not so challenging course, but the back 9 is spectacular! From the views on each hole especially in the evening with the sun setting to tricky and challenging pin positions it's brilliant! And the 18th.. what a way to finish!
The course was due to be re-seeded in the coming days which might explain some poor grounds and use of winter tee mats but the overall course was brilliant! Slight delay on tee boxes but can only put that down to numbers. The staff were brilliant and helped all the way from check in, sorting my bags/cart, explaining rules and giving helpful hints and tips! I'll hopefully be back..!

I have never had to tee off from a mat
There is no driving range but there is a chipping green if you want to walk across the parking lot to practice a bit. I stayed at the resort but that did not allow for any convenience. When I checked into the resort the night before I checked my bags at the front desk and the next afternoon they were still sitting there at the front desk for anybody to walk away with. Besides there being a lack of practice facilities that were convenient to use. The staff although they were nice seemed to treat me like I should have already known how this whole course works but eventually I was able to find my way to the starter on the day I wanted to play and got going. Many of the tea boxes were closed down and on two of the par threes you had to hit from a mat which I have never ever done before on a golf course aside from a driving range. The course had an interesting layout however the car paths are in need of much repair and could be a little treacherous at times. My plan was to practice my first day there and then Golf the next two days however I hit the chipping green on day one and after my 18 holes on day 2 I had my fill of this course.

Poor conditions at Arizona Grand
This course is currently in very poor condition. Many tee boxes are out of service, several green in bad shape. Pace of play was good however.
