About Canoa Ranch Golf Resort
Located south of Tucson in the town of Green Valley is Canoa Ranch Golf Resort, located next to Canoa Ranch Golf Club. This 94-unit resort features guest rooms and 1- and 2-bedroom suites. A buffet breakfast is included with rooms. Other amenities include a fitness center and outdoor pool. The golf course was designed by the team of Schmidt-Curley and opened in 2003. The resort offers unlimited golf packages, as well as access to six area golf courses such as San Ignacio and Haven Golf Club. Canoa Ranch Golf Resort is located a short distance of Green Valley dining and nightlife, as well as outdoor activities such as hiking and mountain biking.Facts

When did sand stop being used in bunkers
Although it worked out for me I’m fairly sure that my ball was not meant to roll right through sand free bunkers. Apart from this I think that this course is a most enjoyable golf challenge.
The course was great except the sandtraps which were terrible. They need to be rebuilt.
Slow play
Took some visitors from Iowa here for an afternoon of golf and every hole was 20 minutes long. Signed up for 18 holes and played 10 before it got dark. Used to really love this course but having real concerns about ever returning. The bunkers are really bad the fairways were moderately maintained and the greens are pretty rough this year. Really sad it's a beautiful Golf Course otherwise
Pushy Starter, Horrid Traps
Canoa has seemed to have fallen off in the last 4 years. The traps are unplayable, completely unplayable. This isn't really new, so if you choose to play out of them it is hard but most times you just do the locals thing and drop your ball outside of the trap.
The thing that really was irritating this time was being told to start 20 minutes before our scheduled tee time just because the other twosome was there and available. We had barely had 5 minutes to warm up and felt rushed and it completely wrecked the first hole or two. Do better, the times are there for a reason, no need to rush people. Truly unfortunate, Still a course I like, just seems the shine is fading from it being a fave.
Bunkers
The bunkers need a lot of work. Currently they are hard as concrete.
Dangerous and no bathrooms!
Every time we go someone gets injured. Elderly golfers are tripping on sidewalks and paths. No club washers. No bunker sand. No grass. Greens don’t roll smooth. No key to bathrooms so 2 hours till available! Takes a long time to get a beer at the bar.
It was ok...
Lay out was good. Stay out of the concrete bunkers.
Fun layout.
Six par threes, 5 par fives and 7 par fours. Not your cookie cutter layout. Holes were interesting and somewhat challenging. A shotmaker's course but fair.

A surprisingly good course layout. Lots of elevation changes that I did not expect. Very challenging course, particularly the 18th hole. Fun course to play. In good shape when we played. Highly recommended
