Winter rye
Nothing like playing on newly over seeded fairways…perfect…greens a little slow as it is too hot to mow down greens at this time.
this was cart path only for carts- we were not told when booking- so pace was extremely slow. we were not able to finish 18 holes due to time contraints
Amazing
The course layout is fun and the condition of both fairway and green was superb. I will definitely visit this course again.
Great condition
Overseed has fairways looking good and will be superb over next few weeks. Greens are understandably slow but will be excellent as temps moderate and they can roll/mow
Missed the information regarding distance and layout of each hole.
Yellow course, no smiles
Our goal this summer was to play as many Tucson area courses as possible. El Conquistador is 10th! A lot of Tucson courses are so green and lush, friendly and fun. Staff wouldn’t even smile on this day. Saw the cart girl once. Cart had last round’s trash. Price was high for course conditions. A positive, there was plenty of cold water on the course! If the course is working on re-seeding or maintenance, signs would be nice or lower price?
Also, we purposely stayed at the El Conquistador resort to play at a resort course and they weren’t connected at all.
My first lower than 4 star review.
We can play just as crappy on a beautiful course as any.
Ridiculous Ranger
We were put out as a 2-some on a busy Saturday. We were ok with this and did not play into
The group in front of us. On the 5th hole the ranger told
Us to slow down or he would have a backup
On hole 7. We never hit into this group
and played a 4 hour 45 minute round.
I am ok with a Ranger doing his job but this guy was rude and didn’t have the knowledge necessary to maintain pace of play. If two holes ahead of us are backed up it isn’t us.
Too Dry
Should not chaged fool price for that kind of quality … all the fareway where yellow
Summer Golf
Played as a single for a few holes and linked up with a 3 some. Pace of play was fine and there were sufficient water stations for the 104 degree day. The course played fine, but dry. More running shots than usual.
Good times
Course wasn’t in The best shape but I’m sure it because they are getting close to over seeding.
I will play again.
Nice Track
Nice course overall. Pace of play was initially slow until we jumped ahead of a slow foursome. After that, pace was great. Fairways & greens were in good shape for this time of year. There are several very long drives between holes so this course in not walkable.
Thank you for playing El Conquistador Golf Club. Every year during this time we must prep the golf courses for Rye overseeding. To do this, you must dry out the course and cut down the Bermuda grass for a successful overseed.
