Hotel with history behind it!! Photo submitted by Shypoke55 on 04/22/2019
Bring your Big Dawg Driver and have fun!
At 7,600+ yds, Francisco Grande is a long, long course that will give your driver and fairway woods a hefty workout. Course was a little soggy in places the day we played, but not super bad. Greens were good. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Can’t beat it
I drive over 50 miles to play here and you can’t beat this hidden gem. Pretty good shape after overseen (except 17 green) and allowing 90 degrees on fairways.
Lots of mosquitos
The course was in pretty good condition for just being over seeded. Several areas were pretty wet. Mosquitos are terrible on the back nine. Greens are slow, but roll pretty true. The course should be in excellent playing condition in a few weeks. Friendly and helpful staff.
Softgreens
The course was lush green with soft fairways and greens. The greens were still slow from seeding but played true. We had mosquitoes. The course offers free spray to keep them off
Great potential
The layout and history of this course is fantastic! Their excuse was that they had just opened a week ago, the greens were not cut correctly and at least two of the holes (11 & 12) were overrun with mosquitoes, we almost skipped those holes due to that and probably should have.
I will give them another try some day but not to soon.
Needs TLC
The course is in pretty ragged condition right now. Fairways are anywhere from bare dirt to 'where did my ball go?'. Good luck finding it if you are unlucky enough to hit the rough. The greens are wooly to the point that you need to decide between using a putter or a three wood. I would suggest letting it mature a few weeks.
The course is in good shape. The greens have been over seeded and are very slow.
Bring bug spray
Greens were very slow, if you’re not landing in the fairway you’ll be in see grass which is hard to get out of but the bugs were terrible. BRING BIG SPRAY
10-2-2020 First Weekend back open 2/10
I would not recommend this course AT ALL.. right now. I love this course. The layout is awesome. Its nice and open. The pace of play is usually decent. But today, 10-2-2020, i do not think they should have opened back up yet. The greens were like very long and VERY slow. The fairway was long and shaggy and soaked. The rough was... well good luck finding your ball and getting out. The maintenance crew kept on keeping on even when your trying to tee off. I will 100% be back at this course because i know its a good, but as of today it isnt worth it. Give it another month or two. If you ignore this and go anyways, putt HARD, i mean lay into that thing. Good luck guys
Great value!
We really enjoy this course and wanted to get in a round before they close for the summer. All staff members are always super nice & friendly. Amazingly enough. The 107 temp wasn’t even bad. We’ll look to being back in the fall.
Fun course
I enjoyed this course. The outlay of it is challenging and long. Is you can keep it in the fairway you can shoot some low scores.
Great greens
Greens were the best I have ever seen! Fairways had brown areas, but overall playable. Greens rolled true and were soft. Would play again
Oh, them trees!
This is a fun course for playing with your favorite foursome. Worth the trip from PHX or TUS. Trees provide welcome shade, but they also create some tough obstacles. Greens need attention. Overall, great value and fun to play.
