Great experience as always
Pace good, most parts of the course were great condition for early summer heat, greens recovered well from aeration and rolled well.
Good course
The course was in good shape.! Greens were smooth and true. Padre doesn’t get enough credit being the little brother of Ambiente. But it’s a great and fun course.
Camelback Golf -Gorgeous place to spend the afternoon
Greens had been punched a few weeks ago still a little slow but rolled true and feel they were in really good condition. The course had some extremely dry tee boxes and patches on fairways, they were watering some during play not at all a problem. I love Camelback golf courses overall, can’t beat the peace and tranquillity of the courses. Bunkers had lots of rocks in them and hard dirt - the worst part of the course. Beautiful area by far the most relaxing round this summer, tee off at 11:50, was paired with another 2 but they let us split up due to not allot of people on course. Round took 3 hours. Staff was friendly and they all thanked us for coming out every time they saw us ! Restaurant closed on Monday and Tuesday for summer so asked for a recommendation for a drink and a bit to eat with a patio, one of the attendants recommend ‘ Ohso’ Fabulous outdoor patio with really good food !. We will be back soon to play Padre the other course.
Great course!!
Though the weather may have been brutal, the course was not. The course was great shape and we enjoyed it!
Great course , friendly staff
Had a great time playing Ambiente. Tough course with lots of bunkers that I found myself in far too often. The staff was awesome, and you can tell they try and keep the pace of play moving.
Padre Course-
Fun layout with views of Camelback from many holes. Greens rolling fast and fairways in good shape for late June. Staff always friendly.
Still Playable at 115F
I have reviewed this course before. This is a links-style course that especially plays as a links course in the summer. The course was coming off two weeks rest from aeration. Nevertheless, it was still in very playable shape though the grass was cropped very short and aeration zones were plentiful. Because the ball runout is increased on links courses, you may consider clubbing down here to allow for the runout on and around the greens.
Good Track
Course was in good condition. Fairways were a little wet and thin; should be great in another week or so. Greens were firm and still recovering from sanding, but were fast and ran true. Tee boxes could use a little TLC, as could the sand/rocky traps. Pace of play was fabulous (no one else on the course at 111*), as was value for money. Staff was very friendly.
no food in restaurant Tues/Wed
Was planning on breakfast before the round but found it closed. Would have planned other option to eat had we known
Challenging course.
Just started consistently golfing in the beginning of March this year. My advice if you are new to the game and play this course, Just play your own game, tee off from where you should per your handicap and course can be enjoyed at all levels. Only mistake I made was playing one up with everyone else when I should have played further up to enjoy round more.
Camelback—Padre
Very fun and well conditioned course with friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Padre
Padre is a parkland style course with just enough blind targets and approaches to keep you guessing. As a result, a few rounds around this course are usually necessary to get the trick zones. The course is generally in very good condition. On this round, I did notice a few patches that were under 'repair'. On this round, the greens were fast and harboring difficult pin placements.
Terrible Conditions!
The course was in terrible condition. The fairways were bare and the greens were all scuffed up. Course was basically unplayable. The staff was terrible - the ranger is an a-hole. And you have to deal with the "members" (why would anyone pay to belong to this crappy course?) who act like the own the place. There are so many better places to play in Scottsdale area - no one should bother to play this course, which is basically a crappy muni track
