Needs Work
Greens were in good shape but fairways were burned up and severely over watered. Tee boxes had little grass on most holes.
Disappointing based on previous conditions of the course
I can’t believe I gave this place my money.
I’ve never seen a golf course in worse shape in my entire life. It’s summer and conditions are going to be less than ideal. I get that. But there’s summer conditions, and then there’s whatever this place has going on. Every tee box was mud, over-grown, or a combination of the two. The fairways were maybe 10% grass. In their defense, it looked like the tees and fairways were recently punched. However, there was no mention of that online or in the clubhouse, and I’d take a freshly punched course over this 10/10. Definitely take your money elsewhere.
Course is a joke
The fact they are still charging $70 for a round here is criminal. I’ve been playing summer golf in AZ for 5 years now, and this course was in the worst condition I’ve ever seen. There wasn't a single fairway or tee box with grass, it is all mud. They clearly don’t care whatsoever about maintaining the course. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY, play somewhere else. Anywhere else would be better than this place.
Muddy Dog Track
This place is in disgusting shape. There is absolutely no grass in any fair or tee box. Worst tee box’s I’ve ever seen. Greens were insanely slow and overall looked like nobody is taking care of this place.
Muddy mess!
Dirt n muddy fairways and tee boxes!!! They scraped all of the grass off on half of the tee boxes then air aided them into a muddy dirty mess. Fairways were grass free on most holes. I would not play this course until the grass grows back period!!!! Stay away!!!
Great pace and greens
Great value. Greens were excellent and pace of play great. Fairways a little thin
No water in coolers throughout the course...no personel attending any refreshment areas other than the bar...course in terrible shape
Not a great time!
We went to play 18 holes started at approximately 4:30. By the time we got to the 13th hole it was 7 o’clock. At 7:15 supposedly they close the back nine. So we could not finish around. They literally changed it off. Told the boy about it and he says it closes at 7:15. I told him we were there at 7 o’clock and I called the pro shop at 7:03. Didn’t seem to phase him. He just said grab our cartons and have a good day.. The drop behind us, Top at 6:30 on whole number 10. Paid to play the back nine made it to Hall 13 and they couldn’t go further. Left a message with the pro shop no reply.
Horrible! Don’t do it!
It has been a few years since I last okayed this track and I will not be back again anytime soon. When spending $100 in June, one would think the course to be in decent condition. That was so not the caee Saturday. The fairways were a combination of dirt and mud with little to no grass. The tee boxes were much the same. There are other opportunities to golf in Phx in the summer, do yourself a favor and skip this one.
Needs to be maintained
For a “Golf Resort” this place has potential based on location and course layout. But the conditions from the fairways to greens and bunkers it’s just not worth the price they charge. Especially when it’s during the winter or fall they charge as if it’s the same quality of TROON. They need to start investing more money into the condition of the course from the grass and so on. Even if you have a great shot off the tee and find the fairway you’ll end up seeing the lie of your ball on hard, dry dirt that makes the play if the ball super difficult to hit since it feels like concrete. Wouldn’t recommend playing here anymore would rather go to Starfire or any other courses reasonably priced with better conditions.
1st time it Orange Tree
Course was extremely dry with no fault of the staff. It was hot 108, they were watering while we were playing but it was just too hot. We even saw 2 coyotes looking for water on the course.I had to change my reservation and Thanks to Chance he was able accommodate me with another time. Overall I think the course would have been much nicer if it wasn’t so hot, can be expected in Arizona this time of year. We will play later on in the year for sure.
Scruffy greens
Not bad for the money. Get used to having to hit the ball twice as hard as you normally would on putts. Friendly staff, and we went around in 3 1/2 hours.
Orange Tree golf
Fairways were full of dirt and dead grass. Greens were ok but had lots of debris making your ball bounce.
