Overpriced
The staff and restaurant were outstanding.
the tee boxes and fairways were really beat up. The charge a premium but course conditions were anything but premium.
Open and fun!
I was pleasantly surprised by orange tree golf club! A somewhat easier course due to open fairways and almost no elevation change. But the fairways and greens are in excellent condition! Greens are super fast but soft enough to keep approach shots on the green (unlike McCormick Ranch, concrete greens). Pace of play was perfect, we didn’t even see anybody behind us until halfway through the back 9. Would absolutely play again
Very highly priced for the condition of the course
Playability
I know the course has been working on bunkers. Many/most are still of low quality -- certainly poor by a "Golf Resort" standard and $$. The 12th green has several large areas that have been without grass for several years.
Pace of play: On the 2nd hole ( a par 5), we had four groups--very slow so we quit after 13 holes (5 PM).
The greens need help
Traveling from out of state, paid 200 a person for 18 holes. The golf course was in extremely poor condition.
The greens were patchy, and divots everywhere. They even had some construction underway on the 16th and the sand traps were filled with construction workers and equipment. I played at four other golf courses in the Scottsdale area in the same week. All of them were great and were priced similar. Orange Tree Golf was the only course disappointing course.
