About Quintero Golf Club

Quintero Golf Club, located about an hour northwest of Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, is one of the most scenic golf courses in the Valley of the Sun. While generally a daily-fee course, it does have a small handful of casita rentals for stay-and-play packages. These casitas, located within the community's Entrada properties, feature two large bedrooms with full bathrooms each, and a private patio with the option for outdoor dining. The executive Loft has a large living area with pool table. Guests have access to the Quintero pool, jacuzzi and grilling area. Located in the Hieroglyphic Mountains, Quintero Golf Club was designed by Rees Jones and is a popular pick for the best golf course in the valley. Within 15 minutes is the Lake Pleasant Marina and Scorpion Bay Marina.

One of the most stunning courses in the world, staffed by mean old men

I’m torn about writing this review because, on one hand, Quintero is an absolutely stunning place to play golf. I’ve played it a couple of times and its alway beatiful. On the other hand, the rangers and starter seemed to be resentful that we took the time to come play golf there. There are comfort stations, water and beverage carts on the course, but if you stop to use any of them, the rangers will immediately hound you to catch up. It seems their goal is not to make your round as enjoyable as possible, but as brief as possible.

Awesome Layout in Great Condition

Fantastic course that lives up to the hype. Great views and very interesting layout with lots of elevation change. Best course Ihave played during our two months in AZ. Highly recommend.

Only bummer was that the round took five hours. Way to slow.

Just Wow

This place is a bit of a hike from the Valley but man is it worth it! Amazing layout, great practice facilities and the conditions were top notch. They have the best par 3's out there. Huge elevation changes and all around fun.

Spectacular

Quintero was absolutely spectacular. We had an hour frost delay and everyone seemed to handle it well. The layout and course condition was amazing. I will be back. If you are in Phoenix area this is a must see place.

Beware of Quintero

I was very disappointed with Quintero Golf Club. Beware of their 48 hour cancellation provision. I booked a tee time two weeks in advance. On February 21st the weather in the Phoenix area was horrible. As I watched heavy rain and temperatures in the 30s turn to thunderstorms, hail and eventually snow, i determined that for the health and safety of a senior citizen that I would not be able to play, and assumed that the course would be closed as well. I called the course and they indicated that they were remaining open. Due to their 48 hour cancellation policy my credit card was charged for the full amount of the three tee times I had booked. Due to this policy, the course would be able to collect their money regardless of whether people played the course as long as they did not close the course. I respect the need to charge a cancellation fee for no shows or late cancellations, but there should be some leeway or discretion to allow common sense to come into play. I would recommend you avoid Quintero. Desirable tee times need to be booked weeks ahead of time and there is no way to safely predict the weather, resulting in the loss of hundreds of dollars.

Amazing

This is an amazing golf course with great desert and mountain views. It is fairly long and challenging but has many different tees. The fairways are like carpet but, some of the greens are a little chewed up. It's the best course you can find in the valley and definitely worth the drive!

A MUST play! Don’t leave Arizona without playing this course!

I’ve been to some great golf courses but Quintero is absolutely my favorite! It’s a short ride from Scottsdale but when you get there you know you’re in for an exciting day. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Practice facility is best in class. If you like golf course courses that look like a work of art this is it. Cactus and mountains/ hills surround the course. It is absolutely my favorite and it is challenging. There are many different teen boxes depending on your level of play. Take a camera with you, you’ll definitely treasure your picture for years to come. The greens are fast and challenging. They are as fast as the PGA tour! Test your skills and let your eyes take in the beauty. loved it!!!!

A True Gem

Quintero was an incredible experience top to bottom. Met by friendly staff upon arrival, warmed up on the fantastic practice facility, was allowed to tee off early and maintained a great pace all day. The course was in near perfect condition minus 2-3 wet spots from over watering which was nothing too serious. Loved how green everything was in contrast to the surroundings. Multiple different teeing decks to provide different levels of golfers different options. Provided sufficient challenge for myself, a professional, while remaining playable for my 12 handicap father. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and although it was a long drive we believed it was well worth it! 5 stars.

Some of the best greens I've played on

Greens were fast, they estimated 10.5-11, perhaps up to 12 if they sun came out. They were every bit of it!

Only downside to this stunning course:

- a few holes are boring/throwaways. Straight forward par 4s that add nothing.

- it gets a lot of play, and people aren't repairing their pitch marks/doing it wrong. Pock-faced greens

The good:

- Hard course off the tee if you don't have it on the day (which I didn't)

- Elevation changes

- Scenary

- Condition - not as good as WeKoPa, but the greens were "better". Quotations, as they were faster and rolled great (in general).

WeKoPa is a better course, but they don't roll the greens and compact them as much there (when we played) as they do at Quintero.

I can see why this place has its critics, but would 100% recommend to anyone. It is one of the best courses I've played on, and from the back tees certainly one of the most challenging.

Quintero Golf Club

This is a very nice course in pretty good shape right now Dec13.

Couple of the greens are a little patchy on the outside.

This course is a little drive out of town and I think it is overpriced.

Best course you can play near Scottsdale

This course is always well manicured. The greens are fast and true and the breaks are nuanced. Play the elevated par 3’s from the gold tees just to enjoy the views. The course design is superb, blending almost every hole into the scenic surroundings. Don’t worry about scoring - just enjoy the course. My goal is just to par the dogleg par 5 #8 each season. You won’t find a nicer course in Scottsdale unless you’re a member at Desert Mountain or Tatum Ranch

Great course with scenic holes all around

Our second time playing this course, one of the best in the Phoenix area. Elevated tees, beautiful scenery, original hole designs, lots of tee options for all players, in-cart GPS and club/ball-washers. You can't go wrong with Quintero.

Beware, a few holes are harder than they look, and the greens are lightning-fast. Also, 18 faces against the setting sun, a tiny downside for a later tee time. These small quirks aside, this is a fantastic course, and if you get a chance to play it, your answer should always be YES.

A True Masterpiece

From the very beginning this course wowed me. One of the most spectacular driving ranges followed by an incredible course that can be a true challenge. I would maybe say my one complaint was green speeds were ludicrously fast, almost tournament speed, and the challenge it took to even hit the green let alone having to 3-putt several times does take a toll on the scorecard, but it is without a doubt the prettiest desert course i've ever played
